Yeah the guy has just straight up sucked this season.

13 points in his last 11 games last year. Don't write him off, because the Isles management haven't (practiced with JT/Moulson yesterday). You'd rather see Boulton/McDonald in there over Bailey? Bailey is probably the one player on this team that could marginally fill the role of PA Parenteau on the first line.

People just dont understand that he is still only 23, the same age as Ullstrom, Martin, Poulin, and Donovan. These kids can all be a part of our future. Sure Bailey sucked early in his career, but which of the previous listed players could have been at all effective at the age of 18, 19, or even 20?

Bailey has a skillset that is matched by very few forwards on this team. And in my opinion he is more talented than any forward not named Tavares. Whether or not he puts that talent together is another issue though.

We have to play very defensively tonight. The smallest mistake can lead to a goal as Crosby or Malkin will be on the ice majority of the time. Pens will come out flying.

STAT OF THE DAY.

Throughout this short season so far, the Islanders do not have one player in the positive of +/- statistic. Six players are at an even zero. Five on five hockey needs to improve.

Nice job TP, I like the clipboard reference.

Anyway, this is a game that will be a good indicator of how the season will go and if the the Isles are ready to take the next step, I know someone said after last game that it proved the Isles were not ready to take the next step, but I think this is a huge game. They've beaten the Pens big and are coming off a bad loss to NJ.

How they respond in the first period is huge. We'll see.

Nabby's gotta be great, special teams have to click and we need goals if we win this game. I say its a high scoring one

STAT OF THE NIGHT.

Frans NielsEn also has 7 assists in 8 games. In each of his "full" 4 seasons, he has improved his point totals.

I noticed this a few days ago and was suprised. I haven't noticed much of Frans this year.

I'm reserving my judgments for the 24 game mark (half way through the season) in terms of expectations. No doubt that division games are normally HUGE and even more so this season.

Matty Moulson sounds a little under the weather. Sure hope a sickness isn't spreading through the team.

Amac-Hamonic have to shut down Crosby again tonight or the Pens will definitely win.

Grabner gets the breakaways shorthanded by Frans is one of the main reasons the PK has been so effective

His PP play has been great as well.

I think the Boyes and KO switch will be good for both of the top two lines.

4-3 Ullstrom with the game winner with less than 3 minutes left in regulation.
