Yup. Post game show saying the same thing right now.
How many faceoffs did we win tonight?

I'm not even worried about the 1st line. I am worried about the complete lack of attention Tambelleni has paid to our needs.

Look at 2 of the goals the Canucks scored tonight (Bieksa and Tanev). We only have 1 dman on this roster capable of doing that. People complain our ES scoring is bad, well no **** it's bad. Outside of J. Schultz, our D generated one shot tonight as a unit.

A lot of goals in this league are rebounds. Our forwards aren't even getting a chance for those because our D can't get anything through to the net.

I agree that he's not very effective at finishing in front, but he does have the ability to burn people with acceleration.

At 1:29

The problem is that in a shootout/breakaway that doesn't really work too well because the goalie is ONLY playing you.

Kinda funny-- all these years of "STOP JUGGLING THE LINES", "MacBLENDER", etc. And now we're crying that we need to juggle the lines.

This is a VERY young team, folks. Guys in their early-mid 20s like Gagner and Smid are among the vets in this group, and even guys like Nick Schultz, Hemsky, and Whitney, only being what 29-30 are considered grizzled vets on this squad.

We knew going into the year that they'd be great sometimes, terrible sometimes, and sometimes both in the same game.

I don't know what the big problem is. I see a MUCH better team than last year.

But, I think it'll come in spurts. Some weeks they'll be unstoppable. Other weeks they'll be garbage. And they'll probably finish 10-12 in the West as most of us had them pegged at the outset.

But we have to remember that they have points in 4 of their past 5 games even with how frustrating they're playing. That's really not too bad. Just take a deep breath and try to put things into perspective.

He didn't against the Avs but you've got to average it out:

Vancouver: Edler goal
Sharks: Couture (2nd goal)
Kings: great game
Flamers: 2 weak ones (1st goal/2nd goal)
Yotes: good game
Sharks: great game
Avs: great game
Tonight: 2 soft goals

That's 8 games, 6 soft goals. I admit he played great on the road trip, but the 2nd goal tonight is one he has to have; and, when he doesn't, it nullifies the rest of his great performance tonight.

How is it a development year if they aren't developing? And if management is content with another top 5 pick, they deserve to be canned ASAP. That's not only an insult to the players on the roster but a slap in the face to the loyal Oiler fans who have stuck with these morons throughout the "rebuilding" process.

Without Horc and Belly, this team is destined to go on a bit of a slide here

Playoff chances could be gone believe it or not.

No offense to VV but...brutal man. We are weak as hell down the middle now, and can't win a faceoff to save our lives. Not to mention all of our toughness is injured. Hope Fistric isn't out long.

It's not an excuse. It's just the truth. Look at the roster.

Not saying management is right in doing so, but now that the die has been cast, you have to be realistic about expectations this year.

Personally, for me, it's always been about 2013-2014.

Yeah sounds like Armageddon in here but I still think this team will make the playoffs. Our forwards are much better defensively, and there was some great cycling going on by the top 2 lines+the nordic line. Couple things that killed us were lack of finish and terrible faceoffs. Of course the Canucks will outshoot us 40-20 or whatever is was when they win 70% of the faceoffs.

How is next year the target? When we have to pay Hall, Eberle, Gags and Harti more? We potentially lose Smid to Free Agency?

A development year is not what we need. A more balanced line-up is what we need.

This is firstly a failure of Tambo. Secondly a failure of Lowe (for getting rid of all the development that could come in handy right now, ie. Stoll, Greene, Brodziak), and thirdly a failure of Krueger for not shaking the lineup up after 9 games of floundering.

I guess when the top line is getting all the minutes, the team is "defending the lead".

Shame on those making excuses for this team. The fans and management need to have higher expectations. Look at Montreal. Sure Price is playing great but Dubnyk has played very well for the most part too and the Oilers have even more offensive talent than them yet the Oilers are ranked near the bottom of the league in 5on5 goals for. Losing winnable games such as this one is just inexcusable and embarrassing.

You CAN'T blame the goaltender when he's facing 40 shots a night and is only allowing 2.5 goals a game. It's asinine!

We are all very good at chilling after yet another gruesome loss. The team has been doing it for about 5 years. It's actually rather pathetic that the fans are the only ones who seem to care about winning.

The team doesn't seem to take loses hard. The coaches and management don't either, the media is the biggest joke of all. Some of this fan base is so used to losing that they keep dishing out the old 'relax' mantra. And that is for losers.

Guys. We are two points from the division lead. Take a pill. Last year we would have lost 5-1.

What really bothers me is RNH and ebs must be the wimpest top line pairing in this league. True team leaders and top wingers never flee out of their own zone during a ot. And seriously nuge? Get this kid some steak and some dumbbells. You would think a professional athlete getting paid millions of dollars would stick to a S&C program and put on some muscle. Hall played great but he needs competent teammates if he wants to succeed. I promise you our kid line will never succeed until they grow up and play a fritters tougher game, which includes tough defensive dedication.

About as many as they did with Horcoff in the lineup

Horcoff - 23%
Lander - 38%
Gagner - 20%
Nuge - 32%

The tying goal was not defleted enough for dubnyk to react the way he did.

He played well though tonight and not the reason we lost by 1.

This team won't shoot so they won't win.

Everything else is second to this problem.

Point taken, but I keep Hall on that line, then. He's been exceptional. Especially if you consider the first line "not getting its job done".

Hall-Gags-Hemsky
Yakupov-RNH-Eberle

What say you?
