forgive me for not taking a Paul Steigerwald report of a Dan Potash assumption as gospel. it may end up being true, but i'd rather hear the same from Dave Molinari or the ever vigilant Shelly Anderson.

also i am infinity dumber for having listened to that radio excerpt. you are not kind.

Its not like Lovejoy took his chance the games he played. He was flat out awful. Despres are at least not awful all the time. Hes pretty darn good at times as well. Lovejoy.. well hes the same without the good

Not denying it, but I would want more confirmation from others like Molinari, Yohe, etc before listening to Steigerwald.

Dave Molinari tweeted about the morning skate earlier.
Then, like others, I suspect, I will withdraw my outrage and hope that it's just a case of Steigy being a moron (being Steigy).

You wouldn't see Ben Lovejoy or Craig Adams benched for that.

Grabner-Nielsen-Okposo
Ullstrom-Aucoin-McDonald
Martin-Reasoner-Cizikas

MacDonald-Hamonic
Strait-Streit
Hickey-Carkner

Nabokov in net.

I knew i was gonna get alot of people questioning me after saying i thought lovejoy was a decent 5th or 6th def i almost didnt hit the submit reply button ha. I dont think hes anything great but i think hes comparable to other teams 5th and 6th def. And lovejoy did get benched he hasent been playing recently. I think steigerwald would probaly be more informed on the pens then beat reporters he travels with the team and hes been with the pens forever im sure hes built friendships with coaches and players but he did say he thinks. I would be surprised if he was wrong but i guess we will have to wait til about 630 to find out for sure.

At least they are fans to the end. Unlike some fans of certain teams who are only into the team when they are doing well. *looks around and whistles*

Anyone who has been a long term die-hard with that team has all the respect in the world from me as hockey fans go. Mad respect. MAD!!!

All you wrestling fans talking the trash and you don't even know that there are two wrestlers that stand above all others in wrestling history (even if wrestling does suck in every conceivable way).

You people are the shame of your kind... posting trash about John "USA Network" Cena and The Purple Guido. Nice job. Only two wrestlers have ever been great enough to be mentioned on a hockey board and they ain't it.

If it's true, then I want to punch Bylsma in the face. Why the heck is Lovejoy dressing when everyone is healthy? Stop with the yo-yo act with the youngsters and play them.

THere's a piece on the Pens site that's basically an excuse for sending Despres down. They just can't "let him fail". Wasn't just Byslma either. This organization needs to grow a pair when it comes to giving their best prospects NHL experience. ****ing stupid if Lovejoy is out there tonight.

Steigerwald thinks he's the best 7th defenseman in the sport (barf).

Anyways, hope the coaches have been watching game tapes. Not sure I can watch a repeat of last week.

Edit: one more thing. While I'm okay with, for instance, sitting Tangradi for being a ghost at best, this bit about scratching young players just after they start playing their best hockey (Jeffrey, Despres) is something that doesn't sit well with me at all.

Until it's confirmed I won't flip out, but this is the perfect game for a guy like Despres to dress. The Islanders have skill, but not a ton of depth. If Despres is struggling it's not hard to shelter him.

Considering what happened the last time we saw Ben Lovejoy in the Pens lineup, I have a feeling we'll get a good (hypothetical) game out of him (if he plays) tonight.

Really. Bylsma is a player's coach. Lovejoy got rocked. This is his chance to show the Islanders how he competes. Not only that, if he plays a great game in this bounceback, it'll boost his trade value.

Whatever. It's not the end of the world.

If he even plays...

Nothing official yet, but looks like Lovejoy might replace Despres in the Penguins' lineup tonight.

I mean, I could maybe/sorta understand sitting Despres if Niskanen was healthy, and so they go with Bortuzzo ahead of Despres if they want Despres getting more seasoning in the AHL. But when the only other option is playing Ben Lovejoy regularly? Beyond silly.

Note: this is under the assumption it's true that Despres is sitting in favor of Lovejoy. If he's not, then carry on.
