Note that rescinding the penalty actually does something, otherwise Desjardins would be hit with the repeat offender tag should an actual hit to the head happen.

Who would you say is the best on the team at this?

It's already beaten to hell. Also changing back to America because they've lost every game since I changed to Christmas Island.

And if I were to rank blue-line stoppages it'd be

Vlasic
Stuart

Braun
Demers
Boyle

Irwin

Murray
Actually, Irwin is pretty good at it.

Murray falls back quickly to keep from being beaten due to his slow speed, this is blatantly obvious to anyone who actually pays attention to the games and knows what they are looking at.
Except the coaching staff apparently.

Hahahaha, ok well we aren't that far off then. I think Stuart is the best in this category and I believe it's because of playing for a different coaching staff.

Murray was bad tonight but I missed some of the 2nd half of the game. I just think when a d-man gets beat/looks bad on a goal against that it's not as big of a deal as when a top 6 forward is constantly turning the puck over, booting chances, not skating hard and not going anywhere near the net. These are bigger problems.

This is what the head of officials had to say:
Quote:
“The way the linesman saw it on the ice, he was convinced it was a major penalty,” McGeough said. “Unfortunately, he was wrong. It’s been overruled, taken care of the by the league and Brendan Shanahan and the safety committee, and there are no more issues right now.”
Well that is a relief.

i can't stand the main board with the matter of the hit did it change momentum yes, did the sharks have defensive breakdowns yes but it wouldn't have lead to the 4v4 but a 4 min pp it's just tough i know some hawks fans in there are seeing with indian colored headbands

“It was a hit to the head,” Mayars said. “I’m not sure if it was elbow or forearm, or whatever it was. We’re trying to get that out of our game. It’s unfortunate that happened. But, we got a power play out of it, and most importantly we won the game."
And as he was saying those words, it was rescinded.

Yeah, I think the others are better though.

On that note, it's really fun watching the other teams try and get into the zone against Vlasic and Stuart. Unless it's an odd-man attack, the two poke it away so nonchalantly.
That is, unless you're Taylor Hall.

Demers/Stuart/Vlasic sure, but I think Irwin is pretty close with Braun and Boyle in that regard.

Linesman who got nailed with the puck made the bad call. Not gonna say he deserved it, but I will say that, all the times calls get blown that would go against our opponents, I'm pretty sure I recall several high sticks including various doubles that we have missed out on in crucial playoff situations ... THAT is the call the linesman actually insists on changing?

Sheppard must be reading my posts. I was very impressed by him tonight. Handzus looked good, Wingels looked great. Clowe-Thornton-Pavelski isn't working, IMO.

I can't believe that Demers was scratched. Irwin, I can understand. Demers? Disappointing...

Fatass has to go. I can even give him a pass on the GWG, but his slowness was so evident tonight. He had perhaps his best game of the season, and he was still a huge blackhole offensively. Jettison Murray....

Yeah, the coaching staff always tells it straight to the media and puts blame where it's due.

How naive are you?

Sheppard still has top 6 potential IMO. He is physical, has good hands, smart, and has good speed/agility.

Not only did Vlasic pop him he went up to him and slashed him a couple times.

Seriously, when was the last time Murray's physicality lead to a game-changing hit like these

you mean... tonight? in the first five mins of the game?

Game-changing hits. In those two clips, the Sharks were sloppy until those hits and they ended up winning the game.
Murray's hit today was nothing special. Demers and Stuart do those all the time as well.

Sure it was a big hit, but it wasn't a game changer. The guy pretty much ran into him. Had the refs not screwed up, Desi's hit would have probably been a game changer in our favor. The difference between the two hits is that Desi's was a huge open ice hit while Murray was being a wall.

Another consequence of that call was that the Sheppard-Zeus-Wingels line had to be broken up. I hope Todd resists every urge he has to play line roulette next game and keeps those three together because they were all fantastic tonight.

Lost in all of this BS that's been going on is the fact that Logan has been AWESOME all season and seems to be getting better. He makes plays almost nonstop while on the ice. Kid's gonna be a killer for us.

Sheppard looked damn good tonight as well, he has excellent situational awareness and instincts. What I saw from him tonight made me think he could be a couture 2.0 type player for us, he is really smart and skilled with the puck.
