1. Devils, Thrashers, Panthers, Predators.
2. Dvorak no longer with Thrashers/Jets, Kovalchuk and Salmela no longer with Devils.
3. No playoff games played.
4. Best season was 09-10 his rookie year. 44 points in 81 games combined with the Devils and Thrashers.
5. Still an active player in the KHL.

The 2nd round pick that became John Merrill was sent to us in the Kovy trade. Not sure if that counts, but he's still with us.

I considered that a "pick" and not a player involved.

Patrice Cormier is a 'problem' though cause he's technically still with the Jets.. though if you count relocation as changing organizations, all good there.

I knew we'd get a Kovalchuk-related one so this was easy

The 2nd clue is what gave it away to me. Immediately thought of Kovy

That would make it not Bergfors though. Cormier is still with them

Yeah Cormier is still with the Jets, though I believe he's had a lot of trouble cracking their roster.

I still have no regrets about the players we lost in the Kovalchuk trade. Oduya is the only one that's really any good. Cormier stinks, 2 points in 40 NHL games. Rod Pelley is better than that. Cam Janssen has had better stretches than that at times. Bergfors is a washout.

Its possible that Merrill becomes the most valuable piece in that deal

It's possible. Oduya isn't bad, glad he got to win the cup, but Merrill has more upside.

I'm more mad about the penalties like the loss of a first rounder next year.

Wasn't there a proposal to bring back Cormier? He was supposed to be the next John Madden. Looking at that now makes the ''Rod Pelley will take over for Madden'' stuff not even funny.

I'll give this a go.

1. I played for 8 NHL teams.
2. My best season, points wise, came with the Devils.
3. I was drafted twice.
4. You could say my favorite colour is yellow.
5. I am currently an assistant coach of the AHL team I last played for.

Who am I?

Who Am I?

1. I've played for six NHL teams.
2. My NHL rookie year was my career high in points for 12 years until I broke it with my third NHL team.
3. I've never played a single AHL game.
4. I was an assistant captain in the NHL my rookie year.
5. I never played a full 82 game season.
6. Both players drafted ahead of me weren't drafted by the Devils but went on to play with them.

I'm thinking Jason Arnott based on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th clue. Have no idea on the others.

Who Am I?

1. I've played for four NHL teams.
2. I am currently in a managerial position for a non-NHL team that has a former Devils player who I played with in the AHL.
3. I was traded twice.
4. I wore an A or a C for three of the four teams I played with.
5. I won this NHL award that only one other player who has played for the Devils won (Neither won this award with the team).
6. I have never played a full 82 game season.

Some pretty complex clues on this one.

Gotta go off 5. Off this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._League_awards

So we need an NHL award that only two former Devils have ever won.. and no Devil had won it. I'm thinking Jagr will have something to do with this given he has some hardware we've never seen before.

Hart- Jagr. No other former Devil.
Lady Byng- Mogilny..

Oh.. Mogilny may work here.

1) Sabres, Canucks, Leafs and Devils
2) GM for Admiral Vladivostok who has former Devil Niclas Bergsfor on the roster. They played in the AHL together in 2005-2006.
3) Traded to Devils in 2000. Traded to Canucks in 1995.
4) C for Sabres. A for Canucks. A for Devils. No letters on Leafs.
5) Won Lady Byng. Dunno what other former Devil won it though. He technically won the Rocket Richard in 1993 but it wasn't a trophy back then. Former Devil Kovalchuk split it in 2003-2004.
6) Never played all 82.

Yeah that's Mogilny for sure. Nemchinov crossed my mind as well. He was the GM or some of CSKA Moscow which now has former Devils Viktor Kozlov. Though I don't think Nemchinov is with them anymore.

He did play for 4 teams and never 82, but I don't know if he wore a letter. He never did with us. I knew it was likely a KHL team that the answer to the question had a managerial position with.

Gotta be Almo.

I think it's dumb that Mogilny's wikipedia picture is of him in the minors. Someone should change it to one of him in the NHL. I'd do it if I knew how.

I was sad for him when he got sent down, but apparently he was a locker room cancer. Larry even said something along those lines a little while after he stepped down.

I love how you just wrote out your thought process.

And the other former Devil who won the Lady Byng was Bob MacMillan

Did anyone else think the second clue was really interesting?

Haha yea I figured it would be cool that way.

And wow, never would have got that part. 2nd clue was really cool.. was fun looking up their roster and spotting Bergsfor!

@Bleedred, he wore a letter for us at some point:

JM patch so I think that's 2005ish

Yeah I remember Mogilny wearing the A for us, but I was thinking of Sergei Nemchinov for a second too. He fit a couple of the clues, and I thought he still had a managerial position for CSKA but he doesn't. I know he never wore a letter for the Devils.
