Which scenario would you rather see happen this season?

If only one of these scenarios this season was going to happen which you rather see, the oilers sneak into the playoffs as an 8th seed and get swept by the Canucks in the first round of the playoffs or see the team finish last again this season and pick Seth Jones?

Make the playoffs and get swept by the Canucks. As long as we didn't overachieve ridiculously, it shows that our core is making progress and that our coaching staff isn't incompetent.

Seth Jones means that we most likely finished near the bottom of the league yet again.

Anything but finish last, seriously.

Finish 8th and get wiped out in the first round. It would indicate that the team is growing towards something.

Another last place finish makes me think we are going nowhere and never going to go anywhere. Seth Jones or not. Because it's not like the last 3 overall picks and Schultz will have contributed anything.

Anything else would be better

Ill lose 10-0 every game to the Flames in the playoffs and the Flames can win the cup if it means we wont be last place

Thank god nobody, yet, has chosen draft Seth Jones. I got sick of the losing mentality after drafting Hall...so 2 years later, it ****ing gives me cholera. I was preparing myself to write something absolutely scathing directed at anybody who'd have voted for Jones.

This franchise was arguably the greatest hockey team ever at one point. If we have another near-last finish, we'll be arguably the worst hockey team ever at one point. I want no part of that.

I'd rather make the playoffs.

As the saying goes, you got to lose to learn how to win.

They WILL make the playoffs so question is moot.

Of course they will also draft #1 as well because that's what they hired Tambo for.

Making the playoffs for sure.

Watching the team be somewhat successful for a change would make me very happy. Yes, Seth Jones would be nice but I can't take another lottery finish. It would kill any hope I have left.

Sorry guys had to go against the grain.

None of us want another bottom 5 finish but its the only way the clown tamby is going to get fired.

Rather be a point out of the playoffs and then win the lottery and pick first. I hate the Canucks to much.

Picking top-5 is unacceptable. Picking top 6-10 is a disappointing season. Picking 11-15 would be fine. Anything higher would be preferred.

Playoffs this year is an easy choice.

I would also be ok with us just missing the playoffs and winning the lottery.

Last place is not an option.

Like others have posted, I'd be down with the team being in the hunt, barely missing the playoffs and letting Tambo do his lottery magic, but aside from that, I'd rather make the playoffs.

Seth Jones likely won't be ready for a couple of years anyways.

Playoffs, end of story.

We're loaded with talent, either we start climbing now or it's time to switch to curling.

How is flashy wanting Tambo to get fired illogical if that happens? If this team can't make the playoffs in a season this short i have a hard time imagining they ever will for years considering full seasons are much MORE of a challenge to actually make the post-season. If we end up picking top 5 again this year and tamby is still here next season, i have to question the mental state of fans willing to give him another pass.

Somewhere in the middle. There's gotta be some improvement, but I'm hoping for a moderately high pick again, just because our prospect depth actually seems weak. It's pretty bad when you've been basically last for three seasons in a row and your farm team is still getting obliterated.

And yeah, there is lots of top end talent, but the roster is still severely lacking IMO. Need another year of picking say 5-10 to keep adding pieces.

I want us to finish just out of the playoffs, win the lottery, and take Jones. Our defense with Schultz, Schultz, Petry, Smid, Fistric, and Jones/Klefbom would be absolutely unreal next season

1. Trade Whitney at deadline for team making playoff push for a first rounder
2. Make playoffs
3. Win playoff round, get bounced in second
4. Have team that made playoff push not make playoffs
5. Watch said team win lottery
6. Have Tambo work magic
7. Pick that Seth Jones
8. ... Rule the world

There is nothing i want more then to see this team make the playoffs. I honestly think we can still do it. I'm so tired of us finishing last its starting to be embarrassing to support this team.

Even if we get swept.
I don't even think the canucks will be first if we are 8th we might be playing some other team like st. Louis.
