It's kind of funny to see trolls from both our fan bases.. What's the point lol.. Just came to say I'm so pumped for this game, as much as we hate each other's teams it's definitely the best games in hockey.

Happy to see Spooner get a shot tonight against the team he grew up loving as a kid.

Wish his debut was with his bestie Knight, but we've got years to see them shine together!

Should be a great game. Ive missed playing our "friends" in the north.

Will never happen again...

Since 1993 and these magical events leading to their 24th Cup, the Habs have only 1 division title, only 1 season of more than 96pts, missed the playoffs 7 times, passed the 2nd round only 1 time and no Cup. The Glorieux have now become the Eternal Mediocre!
The key to the Habs winning in 1993 was this

I keep reading that Tuukka Rask was funny in their GDT, but I don't get it.

What am I missing?

The Bruins have as many divisional title since their Cup than the Habs have since 1993.

Who exactly got eliminated that would have knocked the Bruins out?

Ohh man, some of the Hab fans in their GDT aren't happy with the guys coming over here to chat lol.

Its funny reading both GDT's, essentially saying the same thing about eachother.

The Habs did something that will be very tough to repeat: their only series that they started on the road was in round 1. The Habs also played Buffalo without Mogilny and NYI without Turgeon. 11 straight OT wins.

No wonder the Habs have been irrelevant since 1993 as they have to pay for that ultimate lucky run.

any team. Thats the point. What if the sharks make the final instead of the canucks? Do The Bruins still win? you will say of course they would have but no one will know for sure. The Bruins played well against the team that got there and won. Same as the habs in 1993.

oh and btw, how do you know the habs couldnt have beaten the pens?

There is a lot of hab supporters that come into our GDT threads.....and I welcome them! It what makes this rivalry.....

Enjoy the game boys, we are in for a heck of a ride!!!!
Of my my bucket list goals is definitely to get up to Montreal for a Bs game (and a couple days around it). I'm so close I was tempted to drive today but I left my passport in Boston like the idiot I am

Are we really arguing about hypothetical (and more importantly, nonsensical) situations?

It doesn't matter if anyone could have or would have done anything. All that matters is what actually happened.

My favourite part of their GDT is the idea to sit Markov if the Habs get ahead by a couple goals because the Bruins might take out his knee to send a message. Because the Bruins totally do stuff like that.

Claude isn't gonna trust that fourth line with much in Montreal. Will need the top three lines all to be rolling tonight.

That was my point to the guy who said the habs only won because the pens lost to the islanders

"There's three certainties in life: Tax, Death and the 1st penaltie at the forum."

The PK and Rask are the keys tonight. Especially with the Habs fans screaming for a call everytime one of their 5"4 midget goes down on the ice on a clean check.

Rask is 1-6-1 lifetime against the Habs. Time for him to play like a #1 against them.

Go B's!

Nobody could predict the future, or a hot goalie against other teams, it is the Butterfly effect.

Also opposing teams should talk, especially teams with storied histories and fans with a lot of knowledge. I enjoy listening to others talk about their team with passion, most of my good friends are Habs fans and we watch the games together, lots of trash talking, but at the end of the day we are all just hardcore hockey fans.

Wait a second. A Bruins fan was using it as an argument against a Habs fan? Then he's clearly right...

In all seriousness, I hate those types of arguments. It's all subjective and can never be proven. It's like when people extrapolate a player's numbers if they were given x more playing per night. They weren't. So what they'd do with extra time is an unknown. It doesn't mean they'd be more productive with it. The only thing you can do is go by what actually happened.

And in this case, 20 years ago, the Habs raised the cup.

20 years ago. 20. Long. Years. Ago.
