Flames only have their own 4th, so it's pick number #97.

I believe we now have 3 picks in the matter of 7 selections 92, 97 & 98. I'm sure Tallon is planning to use them to move up into the 3rd round.

@UNDSID Come on Haj, two words... Calgary Flames

So hilarious. The kid with ego problems says he hates the Flames the most and gets traded there

Indeed we have, maybe package the Alberta picks for a mid/late 3rd.

Also 3rd and 7th rounds are the only ones missing a pick this year so far.

His dad works in the Flames organization if I read correct. Glad we got something for him at least. Three early fourths this year, Tallon might use them to trade up.

Not a bad return. Sure, we won't see the results for this 4th rounder for awhile, but we'll see how it turns out. Remember, Knight was drafted in the 5th round, so way down the road, this may pay off.

I'd rather keep the "oh what a ****ing Judas, he's like Schultz last year, classless" etc. stuff away from here.

Tallon only wants guys that want to be here, obviously Knight isn't one of those players. End of story. The pissing contest between Oilers and Ducks fans from last year has lead nowhere, nor will this.

Not clear yet whether Corban Knight becomes UFA on July 1st or 5th but won't matter - agreed to terms on 2-yr entry level deal with CGY.

He doesn't sign with Flames and decides to sign with Panthers after all after hitting the UFA market. Flames are the only team with worse luck than us.

Very disappointing. Glad we salvaged a pick, but still, losing Knight stings.

He already agreed to a two year deal.

Im happy we got something for him, even though a 4th has low value, we really had no leverage in the situation.
Im guessing these 4ths wont be traded. My guess is that we will select at least 2 goalies with them, either euro or ncaa bound to give them more time before needing to be signed.

I hold no grudge against knight tho, he used his rights the way the system is designed to allow him. I'm happy tallon didnt throw money at him because he didnt want to sign. Rather spend that money on ppl who wants to be here and FIGHT for a spot.

Hope one of Trochek, Bjugstad, Rau, Shore pans out for us and not our usual luck the only one to leave blossoms.

I've had the pleasure of watching the guy play 4 years of college hockey at North Dakota. He's a class act on and off the ice. Very humble. Ego problems? Far and I mean far from it.

Class acts don't run away from completion at their position. They adapt and either try to beat out the guys ahead of them or are willing to play a less crowded position. They don't refuse to sign and force a trade.

Good for the kid for taking advantage of a legal solution to his problem, but lets not pretend he took the classy road

We see it happen every year in CFB with recruiting and transfers. The kids who make their college decision or transfer based on too much competition rarely pan out in the end.

Im not gonna blame the guy or think any less of him for wanting out. Put yourself in his position, your a young kid looking to crack an NHL roster and live your dream. Your on a team that has 4-5 guys ahead of you on the depth chart. The likely hood of him cracking our roster with all these prospects ahead of him was slim. He may get a chance next year to make the Flames as their third line center, good luck to him. You guys saying hes scared of competition are not being realistic, these are not video game characters they are real people with lives.

Did we not settle this issue in my last post? It's not the kid, it's his agent, that's how these things work.

It's so easy to be a backseat criticizer though when it's not us in that position.

It's the kid if he lets his agent tell him everything to do that's pretty lame. The decision was his and his alone the agent can suggest but in the end Knight made the decision.
