So ironic that St. Louis and the whole crew talk about the late punch and then Lecavalier does it. Hahaha.

One thing in no way, shape, or form influenced the other, did it? Reap what you sow I suppose.

Don't like that crap, but can't really blame Vinny there.

Waiting for the influx of Bolts' fans coming in to crucify...Vinny...for his cheap shot, which I think everyone can admit was much worse than Rinaldo on Crombeen, who was at least still kneeling.

Err? Crombeen took the beating for Pouliot, who was targeted his elbow on Voracek.

I've lost track, are we "even" yet?

It's hockey. I don't care, but the hypocrisy is alarming.

I thought Rinaldo's was borderline. I don't like Vinny's. Not proud of this team tonight at all.

It's not so much the punching while a guy is down that bothers me, it's that Crombeen was pretty much KO'd already on his knees and Rinaldo kept throwing. Had Crombeen been on his knees because he lost his balance and Rinaldo kept throwing, I wouldn't have cared. I just don't like seeing guys who are KO'd or borderline KO'd get punched (unless they really really really deserve it).

If Vinny punched Rinaldo it would be close, but not quite reaping what he sowed. Talbot didn't deserve a punch while on his back. Vinny was classless as hell.

To be fair, it's probably pretty hard to tell if he's KO'd within the second that you're throwing punches in a fight. IF Rinaldo did KNOW he was knocked out and kept throwing then I'd say it was pretty classless.

Verrrry late punch by Vinny there. But really that was payback for the Rinaldo late punch. This is what happens when you let players get away with that *****.

I hate seeing this stuff. Don Cherry must just be livid watching this display

Vinny has always been a huge *********

I still don't understand why he would fight anyways. Pretty sure he's more useful on the ice than in the box

Really its not that hard. Like someone said early, the impact is felt and the opponant usually goes limp briefly. Its an eery feeling.

This part is correct. Talbot's got a skill at that for sure somehow, did the same thing against the Flyers in the playoffs that one year that really got the Pens back into it.

That and those commercials!

You see that a lot more nowadays, guys go down to the ice, they're back up throwing punches or both guys are wrestling around on the ice trying to hit each other when they're down. I don't like it, if a guy is down he should not get hit, nor should he get back up and hit the other guy, the fight should be over.

I don't think it needs its own penalty though, egregious examples would fall under unsportsmanlike conduct or an extra roughing, it's well within the officials' discretion to penalize under the current rules.

Don Cherry was saying the other week that linesmen need to do a better job of jumping in and breaking up fights when the guys are obviously winded, and I think this is the same sort of thing, you can't rely on fighters to identify when the other guy is done, not in the heat of the moment, the linesmen need to be quicker to stop the fight. I think they did about as well as they could have in Rinaldo-Crombeen but there have been some other ones where you'd like to see them jump in. Same thing goes for when the fight goes to the ice, that needs to stop, you can't have guys with skates on wrestling or doing the ground-and-pound, UFC-style, someone will get cut.

Never said that man. I'm not pulling for anyone in this game. I hate cheap hockey and both players/teams should of been punished. Instead we will have this perpetual game of cheap shot each other for reasons of 'payback'. Great

The Vinny punch was a reply, it was to show the Flyers that it will happen to their guys if they do stuff like that. Vinny would NEVER throw that punch unless it was in response to something the other team did. I thought it was a great move by a very good captain.
