just to make sure, you selected nielsen because he is a centre? i'm assuming then that phoenix is looking for a centre in any yandle trade?

Grabner is signed on a very friendly deal for the next 3(4 including this one) years. If im making this deal its gonna be for Voynov or Martinez. Cant settle for less than a top 4 dman

I selected Nielsen because I think he's an excellent player that would be a fantastic fit for our team because he's an ideal Dave Tippett player, who has some built in chemistry with one of our more impressive forwards in Boedker. Also, he's got a reasonable contract with some decent length to it. If we are trading a top D in his prime I want a sure thing like Nielsen to go with the riskier upside in Nino. A guy like Bailey, for example, would not be an acceptable substitute because he's not as proven. Oh, and yeah, he's a center. We need one of those.

I think the offer sheet cost 1, 2, 3 rnd picks. Might be better to do that then give up Nelson? I would value okposo and Nelson higher then a 2nd and 3rd round pick.

what about trying to pick up a guy like Eric Cole out of MTL? MTL is up against the cap and he might be expendible in Therrein's system. Cole for a pick and mediocre prospect?

Apparently ROR has said that he won't sign an offer sheet. Most likely because Colorado could then match the offer sheet and retain him. Apparently this guy really doesn't want to play for the Avs anymore.

That is a significant point because it means this isn't really about money. Do you have a quote regarding that?

Avs have no wingers outside of Paranteau and Landeskog. Jones is whatever and Hejduk isn't the same guy from 5 years ago. ROR was also stuck playing 3rd line center up until the Avs moved Duchene to wing with Stastney and let ROR take over as the 2C.

I'm telling you, let this kid play 2C center with winger better than what Colorado has to offer and you'll see what he can truly do.

Moulsen - JT - Strome
Bailey - O'Reilly - Grabner

Gonna be a lot of fun to watch next year if it happens

I'm fine with trading for Horton in that scenario, sign him to a 4 year deal worth 20 million. JT will be the best player he'll ever play with.

now is the time to trade Okposo while he has value. Not only can we get an alignment makeover, but it would also send a message to every player on this roster

Gaurunteed 1st Line, playing with one of the best players in the league. Plus a team loaded with great prospects.

The same way Josh Bailey sucks. Lack of skill and not a good skater

Bailey certainly does not lack skill.

p.a. had that and left anyway. he saw either greener pastures or just more green...maybe a combo of both. i don't think having a player like jt on your line is enough to get players to come here via ufa.

i don't know about other isles fans but i would make the trade you suggested. yes, the nyi would need to add a centre from elsewhere to take frans' spot, but there are holes everywhere on the roster. he has a contract for the next few years which is good because the isles are certainly going to be looking for d-men as streit and visnovsky could both be goners at the deadline.

Martin should get dealt in a NY minute if the return is right.
