Clarkson sets the record straight

Spoke to David Clarkson today concerning the rumor he asked to be traded. He 100% wants the record to state it was a lie and he loves it here and get this he calls Lou Lamoriello MR.Lamoriello and wants to make sure this didn't insult him. This kid is the nicest person I have ever met in my 20 yrs of working with the NHL,WWE or MLB. David is a top power forward and I will bet he scores 30 next season because no one works harder then him on and off the ice to promote the NJ Devils you are lucky to have him

Thank you, as always.

I like to hear him calling him Mr. Lamoriello. Some guy out in the back of the arena one night said something to 'Lou' and I said, 'It's Mr. Lamoriello', and he cracked a smile and whatever player was out there started laughing. I can't remember if it was Langs or Clarkson (definitely one of those two).

Clarkson is awesome

I would love to see him get some sprinkled shifts with Parise-Zajac, and Kovy-Elias.. Just to bring some kick to the lines

We all knew those bizarre rumours about Clarkson asking for a trade were rubbish when they came up on deadline day. He is literally the last player on the Devils you'd think would ask for a trade, maybe it's a tossup between him and Marty. TG confirmed with him that it was not true, and I'm glad to also hear from you that it isn't true.

I really loved seeing him tell TG, completely unprompted, that he wants to spend his career as a Devil. Make it so, Lou.

I guarantee this man wears a letter for the Devils, sooner or later.

To borrow a phrase from our beloved friends across the river, "He bleeds red brah!".

Seriously, get Clarkson rooming with Kovalchuk, and we'll have him drinking the Lou-Aid in no time. The rest of the hockey world will be shocked when we re-sign Kovy for 8 yrs at $5 M per, but we'll know what happened.

So because he works hard promotes the Devils he's going to score 30?

Because it's sunny out today Matt Halischuk will become a 20 goal scorer.

Where did I state that it won't happen? I'm just stating that his statement lacks any logic.

Clarkson scoring 30 because he works hard to promote the Devils makes as much sense as Aaron Voros putting up 20 because he grew up a Rangers fan. Clarkson could put up 50 for all I know next year, but him attending autograph signings and charity dinners will have nothing to do with it.

It's phrased poorly, he's saying Clarkson is a hard worker on and off the ice. And he's right, Clarkson is second only to Parise as the hardest working player on the Devils. On the ice, he works hard to score and help the team. Off the ice, he works hard to promote the team.

Personally, I don't think he will ever score 30 goals, but 20+ is not out of the realm of possibility, considering the start he had to this season before he got injured. Not bad for a "career minor leaguer".

He's saying he works his butt off for this team and that he has a hunch he'll score 30 next year.

Stop looking for something that isn't there.

He had 17 last season and has 7 in 28 games this season, I don't think it's outrageous to think he could hit 30 at some point in his career.

I mean, a 33 year old Jamie Langenbrunner put up 28...
