not sure what "bad team" you've been watching but from what I've seen there is little reason to believe the piles wont severely embarrass
the rangers...with dipi in net no less...
that "bad team" has put up 10 more goals and the special teams are on two different planets. prepare yourself for that "bad team" to prove who really is the "bad team". that "bad team" is a prime example that chemistry and hard work can overcome an abundance of overpriced players
Still more confident than against the Bruins, Pens, Devils, Tampa and Philly for the one game

Let's hope it's the last kick in the pants that they need before they get going.
They need a few wins in a row to get their confidence up. They need to believe they're a good team in order to be a good team. They need to know they can win.
Also, while Hank isn't the biggest problem, we need him back in vezina form ASAP. We will not go as far as we can with an average Hank. His slow start is to be expected, toughest position to jump back into at NHL speeds after not playing for 9 months.
I've been hoping that the Penguins game would have done that. Or the First Flyers game. Or The first Penguins game. Apparently, they still haven't been embarrassed enough. At this point I doubt they have any shame.
Pretty much. Richards, Gaborik, and Nash are here to score. I don't care what they do besides that. They can eat puppies for all I care.
I would like to see more PP production but it's horribly coached. Gretzky in his prime couldn't produce on our PP.
Were you also the one satisfied with Scott Gomez in his time here? After all, he did put up the points.
I really hate to ****ing admit it because Richards is a great guy and was one of my favorite players before joining the Rangers, but I think he is bordering on Gomez level during Gomez's final season here.
Trade him to a sucker team like Calgary for their 1st and Jankowski.
Trade for O'Reilly who fits more of a mold of Torts-kinda player.
I don't think I'll ever understand why Gaborik, who has 2 40G seasons, was 3rd in the NHL in goals last year and played through a torn rotator cuff injury in the playoffs, get crapped on.
i love gabby and i usually never bash him. but i dont know how you could defend his play tonight. there was a couple of times he was literally gliding along watching the puck 4 feet away from him. i dont know what his problem was tonight.
Over their careers Nash has never been a better producer than Gaborik. Why would he start now?
because he is now on a better team with better players and much better supporting cast? He might be that 1+ Point a game player that he can be with his size and skill, and once his linemates start picking up some slack (ie Richards or whomever his Centerman will be)

I loved Gomez after his 70 point season. His 58 point season the year following not so much but he still wasn't as bad as a Ranger as he was made out to be.
That trade mostly got funny way after the fact when Gomez proceeded to have a 38 point season followed by a 2 goal season.
There's no proof O'Reilly can produce at a Richards level and even less for Jankowski. Really??? Jankowski???? Kid hasn't played a game. An argument can be made for O'Reilly but you really lost me with Jankowski.
I have yet to see Rick Nash score a meaningful goal in his hockey career.
On the other hand, Gaborik's done it many times at the NHL stage.
gaborik has also been given the opportunity, nash has been wasting away on some awful teams. i'd take a guy that at least puts forth an effort every night and doesn't put up points vs a guy who nets 3 in 1 game then disappears for 5 games...

Gaborik was on worse offensive teams with Minnesota and still produced more.

I'll ask again: outside of rushing past defenders and doing a deke here and there, what else has he brought to the table? The guy doesn't have a threatening shot.

That's harsh, but true. He has played well at the World Championships though lol.
On topic though, it was a tough night watching. 2 turnovers led to the goals and until the 3rd period, we were ******. Kreider and Miller impressed me tonight.
The biggest issue for the team is finding its identity. With the lockout and a short camp, it's hard to gel like the established teams in a week. Like some have said, this team needs time and better play from its stars to be better.
I sure hope this is the game that wakes the guys up. Consistency is needed now.

I'm assuming you mean saturday, since there's no home game for the devils on sunday.
And I would bet you a million bucks that the devils did not sell out this saturday's game already. And I have proof.
Sorry, its a home and home against the Pens this weekend. Meant Saturday. It will be the fifth sell out of the first six games, mark my words.
It will be an announced sell out Saturday. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/02...4&minorcatid=9
You guys really shouldnt be that upset over this game. Yes you didnt have a good start to the season but by looking back the Rangers should of had 3 goals in the first half of the game. Just not getting the puck luck. And like I said before I was really really impressed with Miller. The kid looked great for his first game. Hank wasnt the problem, he was hung out to dry and the first two goals were great shots. Maybe he could have done better on the rebound on the third goal.
finally got around to watching the pregame, kinda confused with some things torts said "weve got some guys that are tentative" and "we dont play careful hockey" which is funny since ever since hes gotten here everyone has played knowing the leash is about as short as my pinkey finger and the non existant creativity would lead me to believe that everyone is playing careful hockey knowing if a blind pass is picked off or cross ice pass goes the other way your most likely going to get ripped a new one and possibly not see much ice in the imminent future. call me crazy but what hes been saying and how guys are playing is kind of hypocritical, and fwiw im not trying to rip torts i like him as a coach and like whats hes done here.
I want to see Kreider-Richards-Miller next game. That line pretty much was the best tongiht. For two reasons first it elevate the play if the rookies and secondly Richards seems re-energized for teh first time in a while
