1 possible situation.

- Fire GMGM (50% chance)
- If spot is now open hire Burke (33% chance)
- If Burke is now GM hire's Wilson (33% chance)

Burke/Wilson return in Washington.

Brian Burke and Ron Wilson is needed in Washington.

Some Hanta Yo in that ass will spark Ovechkin.

Maybe it's a personal way of looking at things. I see Ovie, Backstrom and Green and I can't understand how they are playing so poorly. They added Ribeiro who is playing great, Ward also found his game.

Calgary has Iggy who is getting old, Tanguay also is getting on in years. Cammalleri is for whatever reason a point every 2 games type of player, but he can do more. Actually Calgary has a solid roster.

I guess they aren't "a lot" better. maybe Washington has better top end talent, but I can see a drop off from top to bottom (even if bottom is out performing the top right now). Ovie and Backstrom need to find their style again, maybe that will turn things around.

They need to stick with something for a bit so unless ownership is unhappy with Oates (I don't see why they would be, he's been fine), if they want the franchise to keep it's lustre then removing the head coach yet again would not be the way to go

The real problem is Ovechkin: the KHL is no pushover league but it doesn't compare to the NHL in terms of aggressivness and the goalies are awful in KHL compared to the NHL. He was happy with the way things were going in the KHL and now that he's back he has to deal with the fact that everybody in the NHL has figured him out; he does not look up t the challenge of reinventing himself
this doesn't explain why everyone else including Backstrom/Green and except Ribeiro terribly suck right now

A coach has a shelf life until he can sustain the success. Firing BB was the right move for Washington because he had lost the dressing room. When your best player can call you a ' Fat **** ', then you can wonder how much respect he had among players.

They need a change in leadership and I think Brian Burke will be the right guy for you. He's a good leader to have up top and does better with established teams than teams trying to rebuild. He has a good core to work with in Washington.

I don't think he'll be bringing Ron Wilson back either. I think Marc Crawford will come alongside Burke and that might be way better than what Washington has right now.

Truth of the matter is it's probably not just the coach's fault; it's likely to be a myriad of reasons why the better players on the Caps are not performing but as an observer I can't say I have found Oates to be making bad decisions.

I don't know but Boudreau had a winning record the season he got fired, Hunter had a winning record too, but Oates has 2 wins in 10 games. He reminds me of John McLean with the Devils.

It's looking like it's time to blow it up and start over in Washington. Starting with McPhee

I can't imagine anything happening until summer. They have enough excuses to let this season play out. New coach and system. Short training camp.

IMO, they should ride the **** storm out and just blow it up at the end of the year.

- Draft MacKinnon/Drouin/Barkov
- Trade Ovi to one of DET/CHI and get young talent/draft picks in return.
- Fire Oates, Hire Dallas Eakins.
- And boom, replenished system.

Top 9:
Forsberg-Backstrom-Johansson
Brower-Ribero-MacKinnon/Drouin/Barkov
Ward-Laich-Erskine

top 4:
Green-Alzner
Carlson-Schultz

Easy fix

Why is Washington's 7th Dman playing 3rd line RW?

The OV bashing is kinda fun, but seriously, to blame the team's misfortunes on just him is ridiculous. All the players need to step up and support themselves. If not, it's on the GM to fix this either by firing the coach or changing players.

Ovie hasn't had a lot of points this year, so anyone who wants to bash on him just looks at stats and says he's terrible.

His passing this year, I think, has been fantastic. And his hustle/forechecking has led to multiple goals. Anyone who actually watches the games sees that he's still the best player on the ice, nine times out of ten.

Once they take the C from Ovechkin, it will be unfair to blame him, til then he's going to get this type of pressure.

Plus, Tom Poti never wins anything, his return is a bad omen.
