Terrible "performance" for France, but not surprising. Ever since they got that tie in Spain and good friendly in Italy, they've been garbage.
Players were tired, Deschamps lined a defensive team (as usual) and yet he put Rami, who hasn't played for the NT in ages, Benzema who's out of form and who played offense all alone, Guilavogui, who's decent, but certainly not the best option we have at DM, etc...

Awul performance by the squad, but even worse by the coach, who is still trying to play NOT to lose.

Brazil wasn't much better (even though the scoreboard shows something else) and David Luiz should have been red carded after 30 minutes after three huge fouls (who were made in order to injure). He only got a yellow out of it because it was a friendly.
Neymar was just average. Brazil had one player standing above the rest and that was Thiago Silva, who didn't have much work but managed to shine.

Even though we all know Fifa rankings are a joke but Brazil hit the lowest rank in its history (22nd). They're definitely a top 10 team but looking at their past 2 years performances and the players coming up, other than Neymar, Lucas and Oscar, it doesn't look too good.

As for Fance, this generation is just not good.

Btw, any reason Pogba was not selected?

Plenty of players stayed at home for different reasons (injuries, tough season, etc...) : Varane, Pogba, Ribery, etc...

Brazil has tons of good young players coming. Coutinho, Bernard, Casemiro have all looked good to me. I don't really understand why people are down on Brazil. Their ranking is low because all they are able to play are friendlies.

Portugal beat Croatia 1:0 in a pretty decent friendly considering right after the match most of these guys are going on vacation. Ronaldo was the MoM by far but only played the first half, scoring the only goal of the match. Both sides had their chances, Portugal the better but Croatia finished the game stronger as Portugal were pretty much playing a "B" team in the 2nd half.

For Croatia there were 4-5 debuts, including 16 year old Alen Halilovic but because its only a friendly he is still eligible to play for Bosnia-Herzegovina

From what we've been told, he's 100% property of the Croatian NT. He's going to be special.

thats what I think as well, but who knows, BiH is cruising to the World Cup while I think Croatia might struggle to make 2014. I honestly don't like how Stimac is so desperate to cap him, he has all the potential in the world but his form for Dinamo in the 2nd half of the season wasn't worth calling him up. Shows how arrogant Stimac became, thinking we were going to beat Scotland so easily that he can throw on Halilovic in the 2nd half, well that didn't happen so he isn't officially locked up

Heading up in about 2 1/2 hours to Yankee stadium for Spain-Ireland. Hopefully the weather doesn't turn bad like yesterday here in NYC. Spain has taken it's full squad for this match and Ireland has had 9 players drop out! Hopefully Ireland can put up a fight.

Zlatan is a gifted footballer but a terrible person. The fact Sweden glorifies him maybe explains why you then get hundreds of Mini-Zlatans without footballing ability rioting all over the cities.
