I love how HF boards think that every 1st round pick even a late one like Maatta is going to be the next Bobby Orr lol.

Leafs: Macarthur + 2013 2nd

for

Pens: 2013 1st

trade macarthur so the leafs can move up from roughly pick 45 to 25

Except for Kadri -- he's garbage according to HF. 80% of posters confirm a bust.

I know you send a 2nd back and it is probably not that big of a deal and yadda yadda, but that 1st is kinda bookmarked for a much much much better winger acquisition, if the Pens look like they could make a serious run at the deadline.

Poor play? He was injured for 4 games and the season is ten games old. He's scored 20 plus goals in each of the last 2 years. Only in Toronto are players worthless when they score 20. Everywhere else they are stars in the making -- untouchable.

I'd jump on that and run.

Sure, you would. Pittsburgh should not be giving up any good trade assets for MacArthur. He is a pending free agent and doesn't solve anything. You seem to like adding non difference makers for good trade assets. You package a first and a prospect for something more significant, not MacArthur.

MacArthur could perhaps fetch a first at the trade deadline from a team who expects to pick 25th-30th. Perhaps, most likely a midlevel prospect and a 2nd.

But a player picked in the first round, 22nd overall and who have one year of good development is overpayment imo.

If Pittsburgh wants Kulemin, they will have to pay more than they want. So I don't think Kulemin is going anywhere.
