Would very much like to get some feedback on the Trend Micro line of software. I have used the HouseCall - on line scan on occasion and it seems to be a very effective virus scan (compared to Norton). Rumor has it that Trend Micro's anitvirus software isn't near the memory hog that Norton is.
Also, hopefully someone has used the PC-cillin product, as I am curious to know how effective their spyware is, and whether or not it is on par with products like Spy Sweeper.
Thanks in advance for the feedback....
it's much better than Norton... norton sucks actually... slows the system down and is just not as effective.
PC-cillin has live updates, and I get updates pretty much 2-5 times a day it seems... quick auto updates, that pop up and click to install... doesn't take any time or effort.
I've been using PC-cillin for 3 years now... we use it in our office for all computers. So far no viruses, even though I do download quite a bit... I scan every week, and if any virus comes, it's caught and quarantined or deleted right away.
A believe a 5-user license for PC-cillin is only $40 for the year (not positive as my office pays for it, and I use one of their licenses for my home computer as well).
I use Trend Micro as a Domino Mail Server AV solution, I dont use Windows though or the workstation protector. THough its not remotely similiar to what it sounds like you are using, it the Linux Mail-AV is pretty good I must say.
