Nash Recalled

http://gocheckers.com/news/checkers/?article_id=1454

After scoring two goals, recording a plus-3 rating and firing a game-high seven shots on goal in the Checkers’ 4-2 win over the league-leading Texas Stars, Nash is on his way back to Carolina. The Hurricanes recalled the center, who now has 22 points (9g, 13a) in his last 18 AHL games since Jan. 4, helping him set new single-season career highs in assists (24) and points (37).

File this move as no duh.

I know, right? And now you realize that they'll also go ape with the recall.

My guess is they'll probably wait to call Muse up tomorrow since Charlotte has a game tonight.

Also I take it back - www.theahl.com's boxscore ticker up top isn't set up like www.nhl.com's and I misread it - Charlotte's game is tomorrow. In that case, who knows?

He will serve as backup goalie, as his intimidation techniques will scare opposing players away from shooting.

Well damn, PE, if that's the plan, why not see what Georges Laraque is up to these days? If you're going to go that route, let's go with a pro!

The FB page made me laugh on how many people were *****ing about him being sent down as if it was permanent for now, not to mention the people saying " Send down Pitkanen! " Really? Send down Pitkanen? Are people that clueless?

Maybe they should send Joni to Charlotte and keep the real talent

Very bad decision. The canes need to keep the young hungry talent up and send the lazy bored veterans down. Nash was playing fairly well. send Jussi down. If Joni keeps playing like he did last year instead of how he was playing the begining of the season send him down as well. He is a 50% player yet one of the highest paid players in the league. Start spending money wise.

Who knew we had NHL waiver specialists!

Thankfully this board avoided such an embarrassment.

The worst I could find was one of the cuff remark about how "pissed I am", and me expressing confusion as to why he was being sent down (which was quickly remedied when someone pointed out that they would be bringing him back up).

Otherwise, who was expressing anything on the level of Facebook?

On another note, it would be huge if Nash can wrest the tough assignments from Jordan Staal and friends. It would leave the Staal-Skinner line to feast on 3rd lines, and the TEA line handles the shutdown component the other team has to offer.

I wouldn't know, I don't read whatever is posted on FB, and my comment was clearly sarcastic.

But it does get a little silly with all these "look at stupid these FB posters..." comments when this board is hardly immune to dumb posts. Just sayin'.

Very true. The Thread where we drafted Jeff Skinner is a great example.

I'm not sure which is more amusing to look back on, the vitriol on the Skinner draft thread (my drunk self included) or the Boychuk draft where a few people touted him as a guaranteed 30 goal scorer in the NHL.

Definitely amusing and nothing seems to bring out more emotion than draft picks that many of those arguing have never seen play.

To be fair, the "figure skating smurf" comments died down once people actually did some research on Skinner.

Facebook posters usually go full retard and stay that way.
