He plays for Portland Junior Pirates in EJHL (on of the Tier 3 leagues in US) and is the leading scorer on the team (despite being the youngest). He is taking the same route as fellow Latvian Zemgus Girgensons, who also started in EJHL (EmJHL) and then was bumped to USHL at the age of 16.
I saw him play at the EJHL showcase in New Hampshire last weekend not knowing who he was beforehand and came away really impressed. I'm not sure if he's the youngest player in the league but he was the youngest I saw that day and was Portland's best offensive player. He has an outstanding shot, I saw him absolutely crush a one-timer for a goal and he got great velocity on wristers. Pretty good hands and skating, showed some flashes of quickness but I got the impression that he tries to play a pretty simple game overall, which is rare amongst kids with skill at that level who tend to try and do everything on their own. Really smart positionally in the offensive zone. A little chippy too. Defense needs work but that's not a huge concern yet. Could see him developing into a pretty good triggerman.
Egle with a hattrick and assist. Now has 13+15=28 in 22 games. Is in top 10 scoring in EJHL and a very clear scoring leader on his Portland Junior Pirates team (while bing the youngest).

Now Egle with 39 games 22+26= 48 points in EJHL. Miķelis Rēdlihs had weaker stats being U19... Karsums though had 20 games 12+7= 19 points at U16. But a lot will depend on where he ends up next year which is his draft year and how he'll contribute there. It's evident that he has improved since in EmJHL last year he had pretty much the same stats that he now puts on in EJHL... Now, if he can do the same in USHL next year....

If he can tear up the USHL,maybe he can be a consideration for first round?
For example are only first rounder in history Zemgus Girgensons had 11g 17a=28 p in 23 games in EJHL,Haralds Egle is probably more offensively talented than Zemgus.
