Pass on Myers. Buffalo doesn't want to trade him and everyone in the league knows he has sucked for an extended period of time on a bad contract but with loads of potential.

He's really only sucked for the majority of this season, he was atleast a good top 4 D man last year and a top pairing man his first 2 seasons
Before we get into value, I have a few questions for Sabres fans.
1) What has happened to Myers' game? Is it a confidence issue?
2) Would you want Myers to be traded considering his value is at an all time low?
3) Would you want him moved in a one for one Schenn - JVR like trade, where both players could benefit from a change of scenery?
So what would Sabres fans be looking for?
1. Lindy Ruff happened

3. It would have to be for a forward of equal value, the leafs' assets are on defense (gardiner, rielly), which we don't really need at this point

What has Ruff done to him? He was the Sabres coach when Myers was considered one of the most promising young defensemen in the league.
Would have to be a lot to trade him in the division. And with his value at an all-time low, now is not the time to be moving him from an asset management perspective either. Better off hoping he rebounds--he's shown a few glimpses lately, but hopefully the full game will come back.

I really wish I knew. This team is a mess, I have no idea what's going on. Myers's skating is noticeably worse, he's gone from smooth to complete Bambi legs. Another thing that could factor into it is the fact that his partner needs to be a stay-at-home guy. The reason Myers succeeded in his rookie year is because he had Henrk Tallinder. Jordan Leopold isn't exactly a defensive wizard
You're right, Schenn is actually competent defensively.

Only thing he has going for him is his "potential" which can easily disappear if he keeps it up
Except the difference is schenn never achieved, myers has shown number 1 ability already
I would argue that Schenn did achieve in his rookie season, just like Myers. Schenn was the Leafs best defenseman most nights in the 2008-09 season. He wasn't drafted to put up 40 points a season. He was drafted to be a rock solid, physical shutdown defenseman, which he was for a season or two. Just like Myers, he has regressed since being drafted, so neither player should be held higher than the other. It doesn't matter who has more potential, it's about what each player has become to date.
If Myers were available, I'd love to see him in Ottawa. We've got a good history of developing dmen and we've probably got the assets to make it happen.
