I'm not sure what the Pens have available (being the key word) that the Leafs will want for Kulemin. Really, it will come down to either a prospect, a draft pick, or a current roster player that is expendable like a Kennedy, Jeffrey, or Tangradi.
And that return does nothing for the leafs to trade kulemin for.

Depends on Leaf management's mindset. If they're trying to make the playoffs, you're right, it doesn't do anything for them. But if they decide a mini-rebuild is in order, then landing something like, say, Maatta and Kennedy for Kulemin might make sense. Maatta's the long term asset, while Kennedy takes Kulemin's spot in the current roster until they can make a more permanent move in the summer.

Making the playoffs or mini-rebuild I don't see the good in trading a good two way player who is only 26 unless similar value comes back.
Martin is playing like a $5 million defenseman this year. He's not going anywhere right now.
And running Fleury out of town? People in Philadelphia calling him overrated isn't us running him out of town.

two years after this season for $5M per year, and he's starting to pick up his play very nicely paired with Orpik, so i don't think i'd even trade him at this point
Very much so. My starting goalie in a deep fantasy pool, so I play close attention to what's going on with the team.
apparently you don't, because VERY FEW Pens fans even want to trade him (at least on HFBoards, most likely fewer anywhere else). show me a list of Pens fans who actually want to trade Fleury.
Reminds me of the Ponikarovsky trade all over again.
Sutter won't even be in talks; he's simply not available. As for Kulemin, it's not like he'd be a "rental" so to me unless the Leafs trade him to improve at another position (center or defense) they'd really be counting themselves out of the playoffs and selling which I don't think will happen this year. Kulemin is signed past this year so he has more value than a "rental".
The teams just don't make good trading partners unless the Leafs are sellers. Pittsburgh's not going to be able to give up much in regards to roster players. They'll part with futures but if the Leafs want to remain competitive for the playoffs and want roster players back I can't see a deal being made, unless it involves Kennedy. If it's for picks/prospects it's another story.
kule and mac for sutter? kule for kennedy and a pick?
i'd think of that one even if it's a 1st. that 1st will have solid value anywhere this year since the draft is so deep, but if Kennedy goes along with it, i'd think about it. it's not that he's terrible, but he's a roster player and that would mean the Pens would only need to get rid of one player when Niskanen comes back as opposed to two.
