Markstrom will be good, inconsistent at first but give it time. They don't need Luongo. I still think Caps would be the best option.

Yes, and they are the Lakers, Mavs, and Spurs.

As a hockey fan I am glad the kid got to Columbus and has gotten a chance. Bryzgalov on other hand is an absolute disaster in Philly
There are Philly fans I still see making excuses for Bryz. He has a SV% under .900 now, and a 2.78 GAA. Yeah, the defense definitely gets a lot of the blame, but when you have a guy signed to a huge contract like his, those numbers blow and he gets a lot of blame as well.

Also keep hearing how he is playing better than he was last year, even though his numbers were significantly better last year than they are so far this.

I don't think Stan would go that way. He is a build from within manage the cap with a pipeline of talent guy. What Holmgren has done is not sustainable.

This guy reminds me of Jimmy the Greek. Just stop, nobody, even any of his colleagues, has shared his views on hockey as far as I have seen.

Homer basically traded their Toews/Kane (signed cheap forever no less) for picks and prospects. That's going to be his legacy. That and the brutal Bryz contract.

to be fair, he really traded their sharp and bolland. giroux is more like their toews and they don't have a comparable player to kane

Richards hit a PPG twice as a Flyer. He's much closer to Toews than Bolland

I guess I can give you Sharp = Carter but Richards, at least at that time, was a much bigger star than Bolland IMO. They should have gotten a star defender back out of all of this instead of forwards. forward prospects and high picks to take them. Hamilton was there in the draft. Then he realizes after all of this and trades JVR for Schenn.

at one time maybe. past 3 seasons, no. i agree he's better than bolland, but not sure I'd say he's closer to toews. 62 in 82, 66 in 81, 44 in 74.

i guess my point was that he was the flyers second best center, not their best center.

Going to be catching the Devils @ Canes game on Saturday live. Here's hoping its an awesome game, as it'll be my first NHL game outside the United Center!

I haven't been there but I'm sure it is better than our stadium. Let us know. UC sucks compared to other ones.

Makes me worry about what Toews might command now. What a ridiculous contract. The 8 year part is ok, but only if it's at like low 6. 8+ for anything beyond like 2 years is ridiculous.
