I don't think we usually have issues with the big time goalies (Miller/Brodeur/Fleury). It's the well rested backups or the rookies that have something to prove that absolutely frustrate the hell out of me because they seem impenetrable. Bring on Lundqvist!

Really going to need Streit to break out of his funk and have a big game tonight. Hopefully Cappy leaves Boyes on the first line with Moulson and Tavares as they were developing chemistry and creating good scoring chances last game. With the Rags have last line change I can see Cappy over playing Striet, Strait, Hamonic and MacDonald tonight.

Why are scratching Cizikas? We need gritty players like him out there. I don't care if we win fights tonight, I want to see puck battles won and goals scored.

Finley and Hickey as the 3rd pair? Looks like lots of minutes for our top 4. I know Hickey is just getting his feet wet in the NHL but has cost us a few goals already by getting caught too deep. With Finley's speed, you don't want him being the guy to cover for you.

I was hoping we would play our game and not try to match them by going "big" with boulton instead of cizikas. Is boulton definitely in or is there any chance Bailey gets actived?

Edit: Ok I see Boulton is in as per point blank.

I wouldn't mind seeing Donovan or Ness play a game or two.

Over under on Boulton's ice time? I am thinking just a hair under 5 minutes in ice time and 7 minutes in penalties.

Edit: I may be overstating as he has only averaged 3:31 TOI per game in his 4 appearances.

Kinda sucks Carkner is out, too. He has bad blood with the Rangers from the playoffs last year, would have loved to have seen him goon it up a bit since he isn't necessarily good on D.

well the last 2 years considering we started off a little exciting and then crapped in the pants with 10 game losing streaks. Why should this be any different.

I feel like our 3rd and 4th lines combined is made up of two, possibly three players that belong in the NHL.
That's a big problem.

The 4th line and 3rd pairing D are just brutal. I bet not one of the five gets more than 9 minutes in ice time.

I almost feel like we will be playing with 3 lines, with Martin and Reasoner as designated PK (4th line gets 1 or two quick shifts with Martin getting an extra shift somewhere with another line) while Boulton will just have a fight early then ride the bench for the rest of the game unless it gets ugly.

Yikes. That's a BRUTAL 3rd D-pairing.

We'd be better off swiping a few traffic cones from the road construction outside MSG to put back there.

Maybe we can send Finley off to fight Bickel early in the game, and have them both given misconduct's for impersonating NHL players?

Is Martinek on the IR? Would like to see him out on the ice right about now. You know Boulton and Finley are gonna start the game off with fights anyway. Hickey is just gonna sub in top 5 when needed.

And why does it seem to me that our guys always take longer than predicted to heal while other teams come back early? Callahan was supposed to be out 10-14 day coming back a day or two short of 10 days. Bailey was out 2-4 weeks, his surgery was 4 weeks ago yesterday.

I'd still take them over the mess that is the Rags bottom six.

Cizikas needs to be in there for Boulton. No excuse that he's not. You don't need him in there to fight Asham in another staged fight or whatever will happen.

That is going to be a scary sight. With the Rangers getting last change, look for them to match up Rick Nash as much as possibe. Nash will skate around Finley and through Hickey.

He will be tough to contain tonight.

And to be fair to Hickey the Islanders are doing him no favors by pairing him with Carkner and then Finley. I am sure he would look a lot better if he played with Hamonic or MacDonald and even with Strait.

I'd say just two. Ullstrom and Martin. The third line isn't playing bad as of right but I don't see that lasting. Bailey and joensuu are much missed right now. I just don't get why we don't bring up nino play him on the third line since ullstrom is playing well and getting decent minutes. Wouldn't see that being bad for nino

Why are we sitting Cizikas? Why? I don't think he's done anything wrong to warrant sitting.
