Is Devane hurt, or just being benched here and there? Sometimes I see him in the lineup, sometimes I don't.

Marlies lead 2-0 after the 1st period. Goals from Hamilton and Ross.

Ross has looked amazing again tonight; huge hit to open the game, steps up at centre ice and clobbers his man. Late in the 1st, Ross forces a turnover in the neutral zone, moves in on a breakaway and scores fivehole on the backhand; great effort with a nice finish. He has 3 goals in his last 3.

Hamilton's goal was nasty. Short-handed breakaway and finishes it off with a backhand, forehand move.

As for Gardiner, haven't really noticed him, but its only been one period :p

Blacker gets cross checked to the ribs, then butt-ended by Mccormick; Blacker gets back up and gets sent to the box...what a joke, 4 on 4.

Sounds like he's starting to figure out how to play his game at the AHL level .. Really glad to hear it, I'm excited for this kid in the future

Overall i've really liked Colborne's game, hes using his body much more effectively. Hes been strong along the boards, shielding the puck and has actually made a couple power-forward esque drives to the net which created a chance.

Ross almost had another breakaway chance, but the D caught up to him...what a game so far for him.

Gardiner's flying now in the 2nd period, too.

Was at the game yesterday, let me tell you it is unfair for Gardiner to be in the AHL lol. The opposing teams have no clue how to contain him, he's just too good for them. How he hasn't been called up is beyond me. Hamilton killed it yesterday with a hat trick. Not sure what has happened to the Leafs defensive style because I haven't seen it in a while, but maybe Carlyle can go talk to Eakins because Eakins has his team playing together in all three zones. No confusing line changes, everyone knows where to be and who to cover. It's beautiful to watch, he's an NHL coach folks, let's just hope he stays here as long as possible.

Also I was standing by the walk way where the players are before they hit the ice. Colborne and Crescenzi are HUGE! Man Colborne needs to get more of a mean streak, I knew he was tall but seeing him up close that guy is one big man.

Can see Burke as GM and Eakins to be Coach of the Sabre's next year.

Ryan lasch gets his first point as a marlies, with an assist
Kenny Ryan scores his 7th of the season. Mckegg with the other helper, lead 1 to 0 in first

Good to see Mckegg starting to produce.

8 pts in 8 games now. Hopefully it's similar progression that his junior career had.

Kenny Ryan continues to show why he may yet earn himself a Dominic Moore type role with the big club.

McKegg - 9pts in his last 8gms. (9pts in his first 37gms)
Ross - 5pts in his last 5gms since being re-called. Had 1pts in 17gms when sent down.

That's very encouraging from a couple of prospects who've had very dissappointing years so far.....even if we know that getting stuck in the bottom 6 of a Dallas Eakins team means very little offensive opportunity.

they have not been dissappointing at all
they were not getting playing time, especially ross
and it's their rookie season.

eakins is a great coach for these youngsters, we are in safe hands
