I lost cause he hit a single into centerfield that rolled thru the CF's legs, and INTO the wall. THe game counted it as a HR...

It was impossible to pith a perfect game in sports talk. I tried forever. The pitchers always tired out.

That was great too. The umpire calls were hilarious.

Didn't Gammons say he heard Cano tested positive last season?

A little off topic, but I once beat my friend in NFL Game Day 2003 in 2 OT because he couldn't convert a 4th and 28462. Sometimes game glitches are helpful.

Im going to read peoples reviews on operation sports. 2k baseball has a very shaky reputation, so definately buyer beware. I'll be picking up mlb 13 this weekend hopefully.

The Show is so good if you decide to put in the time and effort into really learning it. Pitching is a hell of a lot easier than hitting in that game.

Still, phenomenal game.

If this ends up being true we are having a party.

Like, all meet near the Garden and actually party.

Nice to see some baseball video game talk. I am an Xbox 360 owner, so the Show is not an option for me; but glad to hear that 2K isn't that bad. I should be receiving it in the next few days, and I'm excited to play this year.

I also have nothing but good things to say about MVP 05, and the NCAA game they made as well. Both were excellent. Hopefully they bring them back.

If Cano gets the gate, that would be a huge blow to the Yankees this year. Wow. Braun getting pinched isn't really a surprise since everyone in the world knows he was on the juice, but it's still nice to see. No way Selig gets his guy out of this one if this report is accurate...

I remember playing World Series Baseball on Genesis and thinking how cool it was that they had the Green Monster in it. My dad thought it was the coolest thing ever that when you started warming up a pitcher, they'd show him in the bullpen throwing.

sad that a few names who were written on a piece of paper at a shady drugstore get more attention than drake britton.

111 in a 45 while drunk and fleeing police. nothing will happen.

take "p"ed's though? oh man. look out.

Anyone else think Ortiz is done?

They picked the worst possible time to give him his money.

I think it's more due to name recognition than a bias towards PEDs. If it had been Britton on the PED list and Cano with a DUI, do you really think Britton would be the one making headlines?

One makes you a bad person. What is there to discuss? We all know this, right?

The other makes you a cheater. We need to speculate on how that impacts the games.

^eh, I'll term it a HUGE lapse in judgement since he hasn't done anything wrong otherwise.

Probably an awful blackout drunk decision. It is not excusable by any means, but it definitely happens.

What an idiot though

the point is that the steroid discussion dominates the news of the game. whether they help a player or don't, whether they are truly pills that make you better at baseball or merely a continuance on 50 something years of drug use by major league players, it doesn't matter. it's not something that particularly interests me as a fan or as a person.

as the list grows longer of people associated with mlb (17 by my count since 2011, 13 mlb players) are busted for dui, that puts a much worse black eye on the sport than steroids. steroids endanger record books? dui's endanger lives. nothing is done with the dui's by mlb either. and the guys who are already retired, like, say mark grace, who got his second dui in 15 months and was driving without his breathalyzer deal hooked up to his car got off pretty easy. he has to sleep in jail for three months but gets to leave during the day. and he's on probation.

two mlb players were killed in alcohol related accidents in recent years. nick adenhart was in car being driven by a drunk driver before they were t-boned by another drunk driver who got 51 years. josh hancock was high and drunk and texting when he rearended a tow truck.

but jim leyritz killed a woman and walked with a small fine and probation.

tl;dr? nothing is done about things that can actually hurt people. but appearing on ped lists means we should start laying down heavy sentences. it's ****ing ridiculous.
