Has there been a better tv show than prison break in the past since 2000? I mean the show was just simply nothing short of outstanding.

The drama surrounding the main character(Michael Scofield), his brother, other main characters like Sucre, T-bag, breaking out of prison, escaping from the company's trouble, etc.

I wish they could make a another show with such smart. creativity, and mixed with ton of thriller.

Breaking bad is the only show that comes any close, and even then it's far behind Prison Break.

You're only counting season 1 right? Because every other season of Prison Break is barely watchable.

The Wire hands down. And Breaking Bad's quality really dropped in season 5 IMO but seriously, The Wire is. But The Sopranos could make its case against The Wire.

Nope, all seasons. I have to disagree with u, Season 2 was the best season from the prison break, IMO. the first season was also great but season 2 and season 3 were pretty awesome.

the ending was kind of ****ed.

The Wire, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Mad Men. Some more shows that I think are within the time limit but I'm not sure: Sopranos, Rome, Deadwood.

The first season of Prison break was great and the second season was pretty good. The rest was pretty unwatchable though.

Prison Break was the first show that I religiously followed, but I gotta say Lost was better.

My wife watched it; I didn't. I did watch half of one episode, found it boring, didn't watch it again.

Prison Break had two good seasons, rest of it was same crap all over again.

X-Files
Shield
Breaking Bad
Oz
The Wire
etc...

There is plenty of series better than Prison Break.

Edit: X-Files ended more than 10 years ago... time flies.

Came here to post Arrested Development, but I see Cudi has done that for me! Personally, I also prefer The League and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia more than Prison Break as well..

I prefer sitcoms.

Lost and Prison break were similar for me. I loved the first season, liked the second season and then eventually they became unwatchable. I haven't finished either show yet. I'm stopped halfway through season 4 on Prison Break and I stopped with lost once they started with the flashbacks.

I want to say it's underrated now, but the show was fairly popular when it first came on the air, right? I think it may have put FX on the map.

Fun fact: Denis Leary had to turn down the role of Dignam in The Departed (played by Mark Walhberg) because he was the producer, writer, and lead actor on Rescue Me.

The West Wing
The Sopranos
Curb Your Enthusiasm
lost
Six Feet Under

Scrubs

I kind of think it's a crappy show including season 1. There are very few serious-ish dramas that I wouldn't consider better.

It was a fun show, but, even in the first season they had trouble finding enough plot. There were only so many pieces of information that could hide in the tattoos on his body.

Still, it's a show that you look back and you appreciate the chance they took to put that on the air. It was definitely something that came on the air in response to "Lost" showing that viewers will watch a network drama with ongoing and complex storylines.

I also think that they did a decent job with season 2 and 3 after they got out of the prison. When the show was in its first season, half the comments I ever heard about the show was that it would be impossible to continue the show after they got out, but, they managed to do a good job. Adding William Fichter to the cast was a smart move. I think I stopped watching when it came back for the fourth season though.

If this show came on the air today, I'm not sure I would watch it though. I'll watch sitcoms on network television, but, am really reluctant to give any network drama a try unless I hear great reviews on it, and instead, try to stick to the cable shows.
