Iginla and Tanguay seem to be the only forwards going tonight.

The team looks so slow and sluggish.

Maybe Hartley just needs to yell at them.

Flames are only trailing by 1. Hopefully Hartley can get them going. Hopefully we don't see Taylor tonight, although it would be neat for him.

This. The Flames are playing bad, but they're only down by 1. To ease the potential crippling blow, I'm going to pre-emptively start drinking.

Exactly it's his first full game of the year. It's not like Irving is pulling from years of experience in the NHL.

If the 1st period was any indication, we will see Taylor in net at some point tonight and I'm not entirely sure that's Irvings fault.

Taylor doesn't go in unless the game is out of reach.

If Kipper never git pulled no way we pull Irving unless he falls apart.

Kind of what I'm getting at. The team needs to rally or we are going to see 2-3 more soft goal against him next period.

This, also I believe that Irving is being crucified unjustly, watching the play from his point of view I thought the Cbj guy on the boards was goin to shoot too, and when he started his dropped tangled his stick, it's his first game, and I think he's handled his nerves really well. The way he finds the puck through traffic and closes his gaps show his caliber, and on that first goal, it was a good shot, could he have stopped it, most likely, does he want it back, probably, but at the end of the day it was still a really good shot and any goalie could have missed it as easily as stopped it.

Huh, Calgary had the second worst penalty killing percentage coming into the game with a 69.6% success rate. And, after watching them try to kill that penalty on the Jackets go ahead goal, I can see why.

These are the types of games that can kill your already faint playoff hopes. Losing to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

That's a stretch. The first goal might have been a little weak, but there's no way anyone can rationally blame on the second one. That was all awful penalty killing by Stajan and Stempniak.

Irving's been fine. Some nerves had to be expected but he seems to have settled down fine however.

I am not that worried, we have seen this team come from behind and Irving made several good saves. The first goal was weak but he had no chance on the second one and as the period went one he looked better as he gained his confidence.

Carried by a single line. Depth has been non existent, defensively confused and Howard has been only average.

It hasn't been real pretty sofar.

Kind of polar opposites, Flames have been fun to watch this year while the Wings have been frustrating to say the least.

Oh ok. Well, fair enough. The team had a pretty bad first - maybe Jackman or Begin should start a fight and spark some energy into the team.
