How +/- is calculated

So I'm in my first ever Yahoo Fantasy league, and I was wondering why often times my players will have a negative +/- even though it doesn't seem possible. Right now, for example, Datsyuk has one goal, and LA has one goal, yet yahoo registers him as a -1 for +/- on the live stat tracker. This isn't the only time this happens, and I was wondering if I am missing somehing as to how they calculate this.

+/- is only counted during even strength play. What probably happened is Datsyuk scored a power-play goal, and then was on the ice when LA scored an even strength goal.

The only caveat is that you get a minus if you get a SH goal against you.

Bizarre. How can you be a hockey fan and not know how this works? It's like not knowing what icing is.
