Moderator election

I've included all the nominees. I'm not even sure if everyone nominated will accept the position if elected

Douggy, I guess.

Anyone have any experience out of those applicants?

EDIT: Two things:

- I have experience as an Administrator (www.LetsGoAvalanche.com)
- You should have made this a public poll, I wouldn't be suprised if people voted for themself...

Before reading any of the posts I voted for Renegade, and low and behold he had voted for me!

There's nothing wrong with voting for yourself. You nominated yourself. I'm sure Gore didn't vote for Bush.

To be honest, I hadn't heard of many of the posters on there. I had heard of:
- TR-TWѤ
- Renegade
- Douggy

- I had nothing against Tor-Town, but knew he hadn't really been around long, so I decided I would go with someone else.
- Renegade's name sounded familiar but I couldn't put a face (avatar) to it.
- I didn't want to vote for myself. (I thought it was silly enough that I nominated myself, and even sillier that it worked )

So I looked up Renegades name in the 'members' section and I remembered who he is, so I voted for him

i want to know a lot more about the posters before i commit myself to vote for any of them. Most of the candidates are basically unknown other than Renegade.

Anyways, i am curious about what have the poster" West" done to be deserve to be nominated as a candidate for moderator, because from what i can tell he has 267 posts, with about .47 post per day. Not against "West" personally or anything at all, i am sure he is a good person on and off the board, but i am just not sure a non-active poster can carry the job of the moderator appropriately. i guess i just think the selection for candidate is very weird.

I'm the one who nominated him. He may not have many posts, but most of his posts are on this board, where he has proven the main criteria:
1) Knows his business and economics of the sport
2) Slow to anger

The other two people I nominated, Smail and BDMW are also in the same situation. They may not have many posts overall, but they post regularly on this board, and have a proven track record here. I think they also have earned the respect of the regular posters on this board. Many of the other candidates may be recognizable, but it is mainly due to posts from other boards.

I still don't know if the three people I nominated want the job. It would have been easier to vote if I knew which one would take the position. I voted for Smail, because I think he's the best one for the job.

Wow. I'm shocked to see I have 6 votes!

Thanks for everyone who voted for me so far.

I'd like to make a pitch for myself, some here know I have a very good understanding about the business of hockey

I'd accept the position of moderator if I get the most votes. As a user of this forum, I'd be willing to take a part of responsibility to ensure that this forum stays on track and works properly to the enjoyment of its users.

That said, I wouldn't mind it either if I wasn't nominated as I'm sure the other people on the list will do an adequate job.

Thanks,

I'm quite suprised at how many people have been showing support for me to be a moderator. I appreciate all the compliments, and since it's going to my head already, it's probably a sign that I shouldn't be a moderator.

Seriously though, I didn't want to do it, since my frequency on the internet is very sporadic. The last couple of months, I've had more spare time than usual, which is why I've been posting more. Once I hit mid fall though, I wasn't certain if I'd be on the boards regularly. Besides, I come to this board as a distraction from my responsibilities. If I ever had responsibilities on this board, I would have to find something else to distract me from them.

Of all the candidates, I think Smail would do the best job, if my opinion counts for anything. However, there seems to be a lot of other qualified posters in the running, so I'm sure whoever is picked will do a decent job.

I should also mention that DeathFromAbove, who has already been selected is one of the better posters on this board as well, and I expect he could keep things in-line on this board on his own if he had to.
