Why would the leafs go for Weiss, doesn't really fit the building slowly through the draft idea.
If we do go for him, then I guess any hopes of a legit rebuild are gone. I don't see how Nonis thinks we're going to become a legit playoff team with out completely restarting our defensive group, and moving out these bad contracts.
I just hope it's not Kadri as the piece going back.

Im thinking something along the lines of Stone/Ceci + Bishop gets er done.
Only way Weiss moves is if he basically tells Florida he is not coming back. Tallon has said publically he will not deal Weiss, he will try to re-sign him, though George Richards speculates that Tallon can not let him go for nothing, like he did last year with Jason Garrison.

Not the same deal. The 1st in the Nolan deal turn into the 21st pick(Mark Stuart) in the 03 draft, The pick that was moved that help them get Couture, Came via the Toskala trade(1st, 2nd, 4th).

Weiss won't even be considered to be put on the trade market (if at all) until the Panthers are clearly out of the playoff picture and thats not in the 3rd week of the season. So doesnt matter if those teams are targeting him or not unless they plan on waiting another 6-8 weeks.
