I think Delanie Walker is going to be a really good pickup for someone. He has his moments (drops), but he is so versatile.

I wouldn't hate it if the Bears went after him. However given the Ravens just lost Boldin, I'd wager they match any offer sheet that goes Pitta's way that is even remotely reasonable.

Pitta is damn good as a TE and will help be a safety valve, but there's no one else on that roster that can move the chains like Boldin did. He was a BIG reason the Ravens went to the SB last year. He played huge in the playoffs.
you know woo else was huge in the playoffs? flacco. he's overpaid for sure, but he's still a good qb.

He's a good QB. He's an above average QB. But the reality is that he isn't a QB worthy of being the highest paid QB in the NFL. Hell, he might not even be in the Top 10 in the NFL for QBs.

And he had a good playoff run. Throwing no INTs is certainly an accomplishment. Still, the fact that he threw no INTs wasn't for a lack of trying. He had a LOT of passes floated up there for all eyes to pick off, but they weren't --- the most famous of course being the Broncos DB who had no business letting that ball get caught let alone getting the pick.

He's over-rated and always has been. I've watched enough of his games the last couple years to realized he is an glorified game manager, who makes more than his share of bone-headed decisions and bad throws.

the most picks he's ever thrown is 12, you make him sound like rex grossman. and the ravens have nobody but themselves to blame for that ludicrous contract.

Didn't say he was sexy rexy, but he's not Tom Brady either, although his contract would make you think he is. And yes, the Ravens have no one to blame but themselves. If I was their GM, I'd have held the line this year and franchise tagged him.

As I said when he first signed the contract, Flacco cost himself quality teammates and any chance to repeat for some time. Now they are selling off the rest of the team just to keep a top 10 QB but not a top 5 QB.

Also upon seeing what it cost to get Harvin the Niners and Bears look like criminals for getting #1 WR for much much less

I don't see any possibility of the Bears competing with the 9ers next year in the NFC. Trade Jay and rebuild, cut Urlacher and Hester. Flame away!

He's better than what we have. Would basically move Carimi to guard permanantly.

Webb-?-Garza-Carimi-Loadholdt. You could draft a guard or try to resign Lance Louis (or do both).

Sean Jensen‏@seankjensen

Source confirms to me what I reported earlier, that the #Bears interest in Jake Long is real. Again, the key is money

Gotcha... and just heard on the radio that we have supposedly offered him more money than Minnesota.

#Bears' interest in Phil Loadholt is legitimate, I'm told. Offering better numbers than #Vikings, who don't want to go above $5M/year

After allowing an outrageous 149 sacks over the past three seasons, the Chicago Bears are looking to strengthen an offensive line that's let Jay Cutler down one too many times.

A pair of proven tackles -- Jake Long and Phil Loadholt -- are reportedly on the team's radar as Tuesday's start to free agency approaches.

Tom Pelissero of ESPN Twin Cities reports the Bears have legitimate interest in Loadholt and have dangled more attractive contract numbers than the right tackle's current employer, the Minnesota Vikings. Pelissero reports the Vikings are actively working to clear cap space, but cap space (with Percy Harvin out the door) isn't the sticking point with Loadholt. Minnesota reportedly has no interest in entering a bidding war for the right tackle and won't go above $5 million annually for his services.

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times cited a source to confirm Chicago's interest in Loadholt is legitimate, and the team isn't stopping there.

NFL.com's very own Daniel Jeremiah has heard Long's name linked repeatedly to the Bears and St. Louis Rams. Jensen confirmed the same. Undoubtedly, these whispers are music to the ears of Bears fans everywhere.

New coach Marc Trestman's offense will hinge on productive play from Cutler, a quarterback who has been abused in Chicago. The line has been a disaster for years, but there's legitimate heat around the team's desire to upgrade the position group, a move that's long overdue.

no, they ****ed themselves by not extending him way before his contract ran out. he'd been their qb for 4 seasons, if they didn't already know what he could do they were asleep at the wheel.

Blues have the worst SV% in the entire league at .869, even worse than the Panthers and their 2nd to last .880 SV%.

For $5M/year? Damn...

I don't really pay attention to offensive linemen outside of the Bears, aside from the super stud names that you'll hear about whether or not you're paying attention.

Loadholt is a very good right tackle who can struggle at times with speed rushers. Getting him would be a huge upgrade on the right side. If they got Long and Loadholdt I'd fall over. Draft Eifert and a guard in the 2nd round and you've gone a long way in fixing the offense.

Andre Smith is probably the best, that's what's bringing the price down.

Ryan Swope

I'd die.

Those first two I would love. Don't think Long lasts that long though

Excellent news, looks like the O-line will be much improved. Is it realistic to sign Long AND Loadholt if we restructured some of the top guys and let guys like Urlacher, Roach and Hester go?
