Not surprised that all you bring into this discussion is negativity
I've been trying to find positives in a situation where both goalies on the Canucks expect to be the number one and I can't find any.

Something has to give.

Good work by Lui tonight. Again no goals allowed. Offer is now up to 11 first rounders.

Or Luke Schenn plus 1st rounder.

Sedins are 32, Kesler is 28, Booth is 28, Burrows is 31, Hamhuis 30, Bieksa 31, Edler 26, Higgins 29, Hansen 26, Kassian and Tanev 22, Ballard 30, Malhotra 32, Lappy 29, Schneider 26, Luongo 33, Garrison 28. A lot of prime time players by the looks of it to me

We made it to the cup finals game 7, since then we've gained Garrison, Booth, Kassian. Tanev has taken another step. And we're going to likely add a big piece in the return for one of our elite goalies.

If you don't want to take my word for it, go down to Vegas take a look at the odds.

#1. Both goalies are playing great!

#2. Team is winning

Indeed but number two could be impacted the longer this goes on.

But yeah, I'm certain you have no bias.

Just to add on to my last post: it's entirely possible that Roberto has a healthy contingent on the team who believe he should be the number one. If he's not getting the starts, those players could start questioning AV and MG and just like that, chemistry is impacted big time.

Mike Gillis needs to make a deal as soon as he can, IMO, especially if he thinks the team has a great chance of winning the cup this year.

How is that? We have Kesler and Booth coming back. That is like a trade in itself, but Canucks don't give up anything. Sounds like a good deal to me

No conspiracy theories. Having played hockey at a high level, I'm well versed on hockey room politics. It's just the way things work.

Would any of the reasons resonate with you? Would you actually believe the tell-tale signs that all franchises in your position in past history exhibit? Likely not. Some Calgary fans still think they are a piece or two away from the cup too.

But that's really not the purpose of this thread. We can discuss them at length in another thread. I just find it amusing Canuck fans believe themselves to still be so close.

It's not a belief, it's a FACT.

Unlike in Edmonton, unfortunately that franchise is in a cell. There is no window, just eternal darkness...

I don't know about you but Edmonton's sheer amount of young talent means there is certainly a light at the end of the tunnel. In a few years they'll be regularly spanking the Canucks.

But he cant and thus he wont. So its a moot point, . As long as the team keeps winning at a reasonable rate -not president trophy 3 peat - then everyone will ignore the issue until the canucks are booted out of the playoffs or win the cup.

Then the issue will re emerge again.

Just watch his interview on CBC Afterhours, whoever gets this player is going to get a top goaltender with a great character. He can impact the entire locker room in a positive way, and given his hard work this off season, you can tell he's very committed to being an excellent hockey player.

He can certainly make a deal if he wanted to. I'm confident that Mike Gillis has received an offer from a team for Roberto's services but if he's being stubborn, he's putting his ego ahead of the Canucks' success.

If I'm wrong and he doesn't have an offer for Roberto, then trade Cory Schneider.

And again you have nothing to back up your claims. Seems to be a bit of a pattern.

Having been a chef to the stars I've heard a tall tale or two.
