Would be pretty ironic if Lou now leads the Nucks to the Cup.
How has his story changed? He said he'd make a deal if it made sense for the team, and was prepared to go through the season with both goalies.

When did this stance change? Aside from hysterics on this board and the media, nothing at all is different.

That is unless you're prepared to post some quotes from him, which I rather think you aren't because they don't exist.

would Laich, Johannson, Neuvirth for Louongo work?

Gives Vancouver some F depth and WSH can stop the Goalie merry go round...........then move Holtby for a young Forward , likely to TO

Reimer has been outplaying Holtby by leaps and bounds this year. We have no need to aquire Holtby.

As I recall, Gillis was last suggesting that a deal was basically in place but being held up while awaiting a player to recover from injury or something. This engendered much speculation and many postings. The articles date from January 22 from several media sources regarding the supposed potential deal in place

Not that I necessarily disagree with you but take it from a Nucks fan. We said the same about Cody Hodgson. McPhee may be looking to save his job and become desperate. Alas/fortunate (depending on your perspective), I see his tenure up relatively soon.

So, a potential deal being in place is now Gillis changing his mind that he wouldn't make a trade unless he felt that the team would be better?

Also, Cam Cole, the interviewer, has repeatedly stated that his article has been taken out of context and completely blown up. Again, most of this has been baseless speculation by the media.

George Mcphee doesn't want Luongo apparently. That's what Maclean and Kypreos said he told them.

False. Several teams have contacted Vancouver, and been on record stating interest. They don't want to pay Gillis' asking price, which is an entirely different matter.

Like who? You're quoting Gillis and his horsebleep. That bragging about the "Mystery Team" was sad and pathetic.

The mystery team comment by Gillis has been laughed at by everyone in the media.

Dale Tallon when asked a few months ago was quoted as saying he can't comment on that, but not that was not interested.

TSN Radio via twitter: Bob McKenzie said the Oilers are interested in Luongo. The Blackhawks have had a long interest in Luongo. Said the list of teams that he wonít go to isnít that long.

So to answer your question, Dale Tallon and Bob McKenzie.

I find Leafs fans insistence that 1) the contract is untradeable and that 2) Vancouver must accept peanuts for him a self-serving argument, which is more of an attempt to convince themselves that it's truth. Here's a hint: repetition does not convince anyone. Facts do.

Sorry bud, I'll take Bobby Mac and Mike Gills over Nick frickin Kypreos any day of the week.

Vancouver is doing just fine with him. Teams that want to compete would love him. Teams content with losing and accumulating picks obviously wouldn't want him, it would hinder their ability to pick high.

The bottom line is that players, coaches, and GMs are competitive, they don't play to lose. People on HFboards like to lose and accumulate prospects, no wonder no one here works in the hockey business.
Naw, you are pretty much missing the point, but that's cool - you are blinded by the perceived magical ability of VAN goalies ability to fix-all. Plus, your argument has no logical flow - the Caps have "very good pieces on forward and defense to compete now" but they will not be improved by a high draft pick? Mind-blowing. Loser attitude? Naw, I was just being a realist. They have a rookie head coach who has lost his team. He's playing their best player with third liners. They have no real scoring threat, outside Ovi, who is working hard but slumping right now. They need to win something like over 67% of their remaining games to just make the playoffs as a bottom seed. Does that seem likely? So, you think MGMT should pay some nutty-high price for Lu or Schneider this year so they can MAYBE have a chance at making the playoffs this year? Sometimes you have to take a loss, and start planning for next year. That doesn't mean you Fail for Nail or whatever clever rhyme HF has made up for MacKinnon or Jones, but, as MGMT, you don't throw good money after bad.

I don't think GM's exclusively consider the current season. They also look at the long-term success of their team, and Luongo is a good building block for that.

Maclean and Kypreos said that during a recent Leaf game in an intermission on Sportsnet.

I just answered. Just thanks for assuming it was made up just because it's something you don't want to hear.

Luongo has little to no value.

Best thing here is to let things play out, and see how it all shakes out in the end. No question Lou is a great goalie, and player, but it seems that many Nucks fans dont believe his contract to be an issue one bit; McPhee said he couldnt take on that kind of a contract recently. I disagree, the contract is horrific, but I will reserve judgment for when and if this ever gets fixed.

LOL@ Leaf homers.

Have you heard them talk about the Leafs?

Do you guys just assume anyone working for a media outlet in Toronto is a Leaf homer?
