The rule change to faceoffs for this coming season is going to have somewhat of an impact.
Teams with better faceoff percentages are going to get more shots on goal as a result of being able to be the second centre in on offensive zone draws.
Home teams currently have a 3-4% increase in faceoff % compared to when away.
Move this advantage to both ends of the ice will reduce the effect of playing away and increase the effect of zone time and draws.
How will this affect the Caps? the East landscape?
Beagle will be heavily relied on in the defensive zone and you would think Backstrom will get even more in the O-zone.
Icings (we know the pain of these pretty bad by now) will be seen as even worse and having 4 key faceoff guys becomes even more apparent.
