Green would be better than ever in that lineup. Pittsburgh plays a style perfectly suited for him. Letang gets a little banged up now and then too and Green would be great insurance.

It would be like the Hossa trade. Price is high, but if the pens are all in it could be worth it. Also depends if the gm feels a potential logjam of prospects which to be honest I could see. The core is very young still.

Green is an injury waiting to happen. For a guy that has played 81 games the last two years and didn't come close to his point totals, his true value is in question. I can't base anything off of 10 games. He isn't worth it. No sense trading all those assets for a question mark.

Duh! Maybe that is why he earns almost three times as much. I didn´t say Niskanen was better, I said we´ll be fine with him. Meaning Green doesn´t bring anything worth 6m to the table.

I wish people would do some research in making deal ideas like this. The OP obviously didn't. Green's injury history the last two years is extensive. Even a healthy Green with his cap hit makes no sense for the Pens. You are right. With the cap coming down next year, Green's price tag is way too much. Do you want to acquire a potential fragile blueliner who's numbers have come down and not be able to resign Letang and or Malkin?
