Let's just see how the team dynamic changes with DP gone. A week or two. Our special teams are solid. Our 5 on 5 is improving. Maybe the team grows closer together and starts playing tougher. But I would rather have someone else than Ruff to be honest.

no chance in heaven, hell or on earth that he joins this team so long as wang is at the helm with snow along for the ride. period.

1- hes no puppet(see why Neil smith and Patty La didnt work out in the Wang era)

2- While I would rather him than the one we got now, somone broke down the years Ruff coached the Sabres and then they matched them with the Roster and he had some very talented teams(esspecially in Net) so who knows how much of that was coaching or just a very talented team.....

I would still take him though...

hiring ruff wouldnt bode well for a top heavy team like the islanders. ruff doesnt like giving top ice time to his top line. He likes spreading the time around. So more reasoner and mcdonald!

I KNEW that was going to cost us. Who the hell calls a timeout in the first period when you're up 2-0 and you're on a PP. PP was awful right after the timeout of course.

I took it quite the opposite. I thought he was finally telling the truth..... that he lost the team.

Its not about a bad timeout or a bad goalie pull, those are little things that mean nothing overall. The problem is not having anyone capable of scoring on lines 2-4 and having a waiver wire defense. That falls back on Snow.

They lost tonight because they played scared. They face a little adversity after that power play goal and completely lost their confidence. Good teams don't get shaken up that easily. Good teams have good coaches that don't let the team's psyche become that fragile.

The fact that the top line was out there for the final 2 minutes and change really irked me. How can players play confident when it's clear the coach has no confidence in anyone besides JT's line? If Lindy Ruff can be fired for what's going on in Buffalo, Capuano should be fired for what happened here last year and so far this year. Sure, part of the problem is the personnel he has, but if he keeps citing his players as being soft, not battling, etc., he has the power to control their ice time or sit them down. Coaches should be able to adapt their style and motivate their teams when they need it. Capuano can't do either, and frankly I'm sick of losing games that are winnable. I don't care where Garth plucked these players from, when they play a tough, determined game they are capable of being a fringe playoff team, but they're mentally weak. There's no structure. There are only 5-6 players on this entire roster that aren't underperforming this year in my opinion. That's on the coach.

I don't think anyone blame the loss on the time out but it was nonetheless a bad call, up 2-0 with the momentum.

This line says its all. Its been 6 years with snow in charge and at best we are a fringe playoff team when 53% of the league makes the playoffs. It says alot more about the GM being terrible than the coach. Teams with a lack of talent are inconsistent. The coach will always be the one blamed but when you have a team of bad players inconsistency is what you get.

having that time out at the end of the game could have given the isles a better shot to tie it up.

I have many problems with Capuano but tonight's game is again why, Cizikas gets 8:18 ice time, Martin 10:07, Bailey 14:44. OK how does Aucoin get 15:28? He does a horrible time of distributing ice time. And please do not get me started on sitting Ullstrom 3 straight games. It's not just one thing, it is many little things that adds up to losses and makes me think he is either in over his head or simply just not very good as a NHL coach, and this is why he has to go.

The lines are a disaster and Cappy doesn't notice. Worse, he doesn't even try to change them. I'm not sure what's worse.

Moulson Tavares Martin
Ullstrom Bailey Boyes
Grabner Nielsen McDonald
Reasoner Cizikas Okposo

Try it. Try something.

During the time out:
Crappy: You guys need more cowbell.
Tavares: WTF are you talking about?
Crappy: It's a bell they put on a cow's collar. Kind of like a dog collar, only bigger.
Tavares: No really, eh? WTF are you talking about?
Crappy: Here (draws on clipboard, stick-cow, giant ring through it's nose)
Grabner: Bullsheet. That is Bullsheet, ja?
Crappy: No, it's a cow. The cowbell... goes here. (points to the neck)
Grabner: No, bullsheet other end.
Crappy: The BELL. The bell goes here, and you guys need it.
Tavares: You want me to carry a cow into the offensive zone now on top of doing the other two forwards work? I know I am good but I am not that good...
Crappy: Doug, can you explain this to them?
Weight: One day... (chews gum several times) I will (smirks, then winks at no one).

They only thing wrong with this is Cizikas and it will be wrong to anyone who has to suffer playing with those other 2. It can be looked at as a instant demotion. I can see Casey saying something to Cappy like "what the hell did i do wrong to deserve this!!!!) . I just wish Cappy would man up and sit Reasoner asap and bench or scratch Okposo asap but yet again this causes the break up of our 4th line and also doesn't address the real issue of having quality 2nd line scorers and having Reasoner,Aucoin, and Okposo out there.
