Winnipeg Jets organization reaping benefits from 2008 NHL Draft

Because the 2008 draft class produced so many big name stars, the other prospects that have yet to make the big show yet are often held to unrealistic standards, and written off as busts too soon. Zach Bogosian's future with the Jets/Thrashers franchise was in doubt at one point, and only in the 2011-12 season did he really show what the front office saw in him to take him third overall.

Though, it has been five years since the draft, and the futures of players are much clearer. Some, like Daultan Leveille, are inching closer and closer to the NHL.… read more

I still remember the summer of '11 when every RFA except Bogosian was re-signed and everyone was wondering if Bogosian had requested a trade or wanted out.

Now Bogosian seems like the last player who would ever want to leave. No Jet has endeared himself more to the fans and to the city than him.

The piece is waaaaay to easy on Leveille. A first round pick who plays 4 years in college and starts off in the ECHL. That is a busted draft pick not someone "edging closer to the NHL"

Not to mention he is NOT Jets property, in fact he is property of no NHL team. He is a loooooong way from getting an NHL deal, nevermind getting to the NHL...

Am I missing the joke?

We got Bogo (great), and Redmond (looking like a keeper). No one else is going to sniff the NHL most likely. How are we reaping the benefits again?

And Daultan Leveille is inching closer and closer to the NHL? In what universe?

This looks like a journalistic fail to me.

the best thing daulten leveilla has done for this organization is become pick # 59 Overall in the 2013 draft.

"Daultan Leveille has successfully risen his stock by turning himself into a late 2nd round draft pick and with the off-chance of turning into a real prospect"

How did you not miss that???
