Really do they play 4 on 4 OT or shoot-outs in the playoffs? 1 of the Devils OTL's was in the shoot-out and the other 2 came while shorthanded in 4-3 situations in OT. Neither would happen in the playoffs.

That being said I don't buy into the Devils yet. This weekend will tell a lot about them. I think most people can agree the Pens are a legit cup contender. How they perform against them these two games will let you know how serious to take them.

We lost Parise, who was almost always garanteed to get a shootout goal. The rest of our team except Kovy and Elias seem to be lousy at shootouts. So nowadays it is not a garanteed win anymore for the Devils going into a shootout.

As for Overtime, we didn't have Henrique back til recently. He is our ace in the hole for OT. Hopefully if we're in that situation again he'll help us win those as well.

I think the Pen's take the Atlantic this year, these next couple of games will be a nice test to see where we're at though

I'm sorry what? If anything it's the other way around. We've had it our way against the pens for several years now. Even pens fans will tell you they've struggled against NJ in past years.

Yeah, the Devils are playing great hockey thus far. Their home and home this weekend with Pittsburgh should be interesting.

Not sure if they'll win the division. However, I do think their style of play is perfect for the playoffs.

I think the Pens take it if they can stay healthy.

The devils defensive corps is so solid. Tallinder isn't even playing because of a numbers issue. That's really the strength of the team.

Seriously are the Devils the best team in the East? Never get to watch them play but 7-1-3? o_O

Devils Youth Movement is making me smile right now. Parise really did the wrong thing leaving this team. Our biggest worry is replacing Marty in a few years.

Also have the leading scorer in the AHL on the farm team....

Pens got mad at some bad calls and the wheels fell off now. Took a page out of the Flyers book.

Another penalty against the Devils.

They're going both ways.

It's being called tight...

You're joking right? It's the last minute of the game, they're evening the calls up.

I was hoping to keep the penalty talk confined to a new thread, but at this point I don't think it's going to cause a fight. Once the refs starting calling every little thing, they had to keep calling every little thing. This third period has been just miserable to watch.
