With how tight the refs have called this game, I wouldn't be shocked.

I wasn't really referencing the 'playoff atmosphere' question, just your comment about 'another penalty against the Pens'.

Yep. No flow at all. Players start diving, become terrified to play physical, etc.

Well they saw how tight they were calling it, but they were still playing on the edge

Even with all that powerplay time, Kovy played half the game. Absurd.

The refs were horrible all game, both ways. - That was my point.

Hopefully tomorrows game will be better with the reffing.

There were a lot of penalties sure, but I thought most of them were legit. A lot of penalties doesnt mean bad officiating.

Refs give more leeway in my local zero contact ball hockey league. This was basically a combination of women's hockey and basketball.

The Devils are a well oiled machine. As long as we keep bringing in people who buy in to what Lou and Pete are trying to do we'll always contend.

Look, the Pens took a few dumb, undisciplined penalties that were more than merited. but for the most part the refs really took it to a whole new extreme this game where every single little thing was called when any other ref in the league would've likely just let the guys play. The 3rd period was a complete abomination and not what the NHL game should be about.

For a fan of a team that is generally a darling of the NHL karma is bound to catch up with you sooner or later.

That said Pittsburgh won't get called for ANYTHING tomorrow night at home.

Up until the last 10 mins of the 3rd, the penalties were almost even for both sides. The pens just got undisciplined at the end.

I thought most of the calls in the 3rd were legit penalties. It was earlier in the game where there were more borderline calls. The Pens player got stupid late and paid for it, that wasn't bad officiating there.

Bobby Butler played out of his mind today. I'm starting to see why Lou didn't resign the aging Sykora, Butler is faster and has a better shot. Although Sykora's chemistry with Elias was nice
