That sucks. I'd love to talk to him, I can't imagine how bad you want to strike up a conversation.

Lou is clearly having him come try out to fill the void while Zubrus is out

and despite him seeming like he doesn't want to talk to anybody, when might you run into him again? say something simple and see how he responds and go with it from there

Yeah, it's just a Swedish thing, the tradition is to always leave famous people alone. Everybody here is like OOOPS that is PF! and then they try not to look and mind their own business. Plus he is sitting with his wife. If he was sitting with some buddy I might try to say something.

Yeah, that's a tough one then if he's with his wife and all that. I'd probably do the same thing you are.

They used to have more power though. Ever read about some of those warrior Popes from the Middle Ages, or even the ones from the Renaissance who were basically in charge of an Italian city-state? Some wild **** going on back then.

Never happen. The cardinals who elect the Pope are all socially conservative, pretty much to a man.

And they don't want a young Pope. Like I believe Jimmy said on OaA today they want the title to always be bigger then the person. A long term Pope could become bigger then the title itself.

I met him in Logan airport in 1995 along with Sakic, Nolan, Ricci and Wendell Clark..they were so gracious signed autographs and talk to me for a good 5 minutes...

I was standing in the international arrivals area outside waiting to pick up someone and the entire Quebec Nordic team walked out of the terminal and stood outside before they got on a bus. They seemed happy I was a Devil fan and not a Bruin fan...

I had nothing for them to sign so I grabbed a luggage tag and a pen from a stand and they signed that for me.

I once traded a bunch of signed hockey cards for a Machamp. (A pokemon card)

Only one I remember was a Felix Potvin card. I used to love Felix.

I still have most of my cards. I have Topps and O-pee-chee from as early as 82. My first complete set, I still have it, was Opeechee 84/85...so many incredible rookies in that set and it's just sitting in my garage.

My step-father is like that. He has boxes of O Pee Chees and won't even let me look thru em, even though he isn't a hockey buff.

There was a card store in Clifton that used to order me the French versions. It was so funny, the guy used to say "if I order them you're buying the whole box because nobody else will want them"...so I bought boxes of the French version.

That's pretty freakin cool. I remember a place off of Route 287 called the Hockeyhaus, and they sold some really cool stuff that I wouldn't see much as well, I got some cool cards there.

I love hockey cards.

I mainly collect only Devils cards with the odd other cards from other people. I try to get every year and every unique player card for the year.

Rookies are nice

I actually found a Rookie Brodeur in a box of 3600 cards I bought for 40 bucks off some old dude in Englishtown. Is one of my most prized.

Well in 1980 I couldn't be a devils fan

But my favorite hockey player was Mark Johnson who happen to become a Penguin at the time...but I followed most players from the 1980 US team and Wayne Gretzky. I was a kid,cut me a break.
