Dougie Hamilton

I'm a huge Bruins fan and I love Dougie and I know he isn't going anywhere but if it was to happen would could Boston get in return.

I don't think the value is as high as you'd think. Maybe a 1st and a lesser prospect or an established player.

He is still just a prospect at this point. What was the "perceived" value of Tyler Meyers during his rookie season? Or how about Boumeester?

I think we as fans put more value on potential than GM's actually do.

Agreed. ^

His value (to other teams) is probably at an all-time low right now. Chiarelli is obviously not going to move him unless it's ridiculous overpayment where he'd get fired if he said no, but we wouldn't get much for him right now. Give him a year or two.

Way too early to ascertain a proper value. Wait till his ELC ends.

I understand there not moving him just curious if teams would overpay for him. I don't want them to move Dougie just getting people's opinions.

maybe read the OP ? of course he isn't going to be moved, neither are 95% of the players involved in the proposals.

His value will be closer to a quality prospect than it will be to the player Boston is hoping he becomes.

*Chia doesn't trade him unless it's an overpayment. That said,...

*..It's too early for teams to overpay for him. Yes, tonnes of potential and all the makings of a #1D, etc., etc., but highly unlikely that any team gives up a 1C or 1W or offers a Lindros-ian return at this point.

Can't simplify that any more.

This^.
However, somewhere beyond ridiculous massive way too much overcompensation and a lowball offer, I would theoretically be willing to overpay reasonably now to beat the competition and provide an inducement to acquire.

However it is hard to come up with that mix right now.
Wanna think about it.

Even if someone offered the kind of value the B's would want for Hamilton, I can't imagine a deal that makes sense for them wrt the cap unless the return is a similar caliber player also still on his ELC. Obviously, trading Thomas created some space, but I'd imagine they want to keep the space they open in case they need/want to add someone at the trade deadline.

Boston will not be trading him...he has fit in very nicely in the NHL so far, and just think; he's not done developing yet.

OK, I'll play along.

To DET: Hamilton, Krejci, 1st

To BOS: Datsyuk, Zetterberg

The Wings rebuild on the fly while staying competitive, the B's become the undisputed cup favourite for the next 2 years.

What does that mean? So vague.

Chris Kelly is establish and so is Patrice Bergeron

An honorary title that is utterly meaningless.

See SJ Sharks.

I don't get these types of threads. People coming on trying to see what they could get in return for a player going ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE. Why even do an "if"?
