That's the problem... The top pairing isn't terrible but the bottom is so bad we have to spread the bad or and the whole becomes awful

So...can we send Sanguinetti down yet? Not good at defense, but the offense keeps dying on his stick. Petrecki, please.

If playing tough in front of the net is XXX, Sangs is the Red Shoe Diaries starring David Duchovney.....

That said, if we retain a nucleus of Staal Staal Semin, Skinner, Faulk, and Ward, you're probably going to see JR start to beef up the bottom lines so we can flex our muscles a bit in the future, as adding scorers won't be that high a priority.
Well yeah, that's a huge part of it too. Keeping Semin happy and under contract beyond this season will go a long way in helping there IMO. We've been searching for top 6 talent in the draft for years and finally got it because of Washington's stupidity and Jordan wanting to no longer be stuck behind the two best players in the league.

Our only beef with offensive ability up front (aside from the Staal's who aren't the type to go around crushing people) is Ruutu. REALLY need to find a guy with decent offensive ability (IE: not Paradis) and size that's willing to use it in the draft this year. I'm all in on Rychel for that reason, I think he's exactly what this org needs. Wouldn't mind Nichushkin in the draft for that reason either, though he'll probably fall to the 2nd due to the KHL factor.

The only other two games we did were games 1 and 2 and we all know what that looked like.
Yep. We can get away with one of Sangs or Corvo in the lineup (preferably Corvo sadly) just fine, but not both. Not at the expense of McBain who's no rock in his own right but is at least competent.

You could bring up Murphy, or even somebody like Krueger, it's hard to imagine they would do worse.

Our defensemen have to literally be the worst at keeping the puck in the zone during a clear attempt.

I think we might have to... Sangs is just bad and if Murphy is as good as advertised, we need him sooner rather than later

Murphy - not possible

Krueger - Don't know too much about him. Solid defensively, but we need a physical punishing defenseman.

Petrecki - From what I know (admittedly, not much), he seems to be a tough kid back there. The kind of guy who pushes the line and ends up with a high amount of penalties as a result, but that should make a difference.

Sanguinetti - Just no. Go away.

Yep, had to keep him after camp and with Sangs start in the AHL no way he was going to clear waivers. Now that people have had 10 games to see what Sangs brings and what he doesn't at the NHL level he'd be back in Charlotte no problem IMO. Not like Boychuk who only got that single game to try.
