That was just an awful level of hockey. Hard to nail down the worst players when everyone looked AHL level out there.

I remember a game where the Habs were trailing against the Leafs going into the third and it seemed like Koivu highhandedly willed the team to victory.

Funny how the laffs are always so disciplined when playing the Habs with their good PP.

Slowly coming around here. Hope for at least one power play tonight. The leafs are smart enough to avoid that so far.

I can't say that I hate Gionta but he has no hockey sense. To me, he is over rated and not untouchable

Didn't take long for Therrien to employ the ********* break-out strategy of all-time.

Team speed and puck control is dead. Chip and chase is back.

In the tradition of all bad past Habs coaches.. Moen or Prust on the top-line rather than promoting someone with skill.

I mean hell, why do you think people miss marginal role players like AK and Pouliot so much? This team has a serious lack of wing skill.
Things looked pretty good with "the DD line", Bourque, Gallagher, Gionta, and potentially Moen "to fill in". That's already 6 wingers for 4 spots. Now only two of them are playing competently - Gallagher and Bourque.

He offers very little. That's a tap in but he manages to hook it high and out.

Man CBC's broadcast is Leafs centric. I almost want to go watch RDS.

So right.

I'd put in Eller too, it's exactly what I've been saying for months.

I wasn't going to drink much since I made the mistake of staying in tonight, this game has already changed that.

Either the shot was tipped or the puck was rolling. No other reasonable explanation.

If grooming Galchenyuk is to completely neuter him and not allow him to have the puck then we should send him back to Sarnia. RIP ELC.

Think they could hire Carbo part time to teach them how to win face-offs. Would help to start with possession instead of chasing.

I was really, really hard on Koivu the last couple of years but he's never been as inept as Gionta or as representative of awful hockey sense.

Gionta's only skill is the coveted Jacques Martin Dump-and-Change

Glad first period is over...

We have to regroup and start fresh.

I like Emelin but he's awful right now. Desharnais is looking weak out there. Cole is the same.

Why Pat? Are they randomly and inappropriately hating on our best players? Shame on them!!

Gionta is not much of a captain, he took the money so probably felt obligated to take the "C". He shows zero of the traits you expect from your captain.

I was pleasantly surprised when the season started by the play of Gallagher and Bourque, for a while it looked like my concern was exaggerated, but the lack of skill on the wings is being exposed hard. When you only have two wingers who know how to pass the puck in Gallagher and usually Pacioretty, you have a problem.

While I think you are harsh on Gionta, even at his best...he was never a very high IQ player. His defensive game has helped the burden on Plek a bit but besides that, he's a dump and chase specialist.

Subban and Gorges have to be back together and they have to put Bouillon with Diaz. Markov and Emelin better not be out there when Kessel is.

Lars Eller does not fit anywhere on this team. Trade him for a solid 3rd line center that wins faceoffs and maybe something else.

Eller will fit with some wingers.. his spot is not to put Galchenyuk on the wing. But of course, we must have a grinder on the top line and DD at center.

does not fit because he's the only one playing well?
