you cannot be ****ing serious

please inform us all of the 4th line players that assisted on jt miller's goals

then look at those players and compare them to john scott, kaleta and gerbe. or even 9 and 55

Seriously, does this team hit anyone?

This whole tough to play against this is BS. Islanders aren't afraid of these guys and we aren't punishing them on the forecheck. The opposite is happening as they're finishing every check.

A whopping 4 Sabres forwards ended up with less even strength ice time than Hecht (the 4th line and Stafford), and Vanek led the forwards in both ES and total ice time. So, likely, it's just in your imagination.

Looking at the ice time chart, it looks like Ruff is rolling 3 lines evenly and picking his spots with the 4th as usual. The ice time difference comes in when people get caught out there too long.

They're soooo bad in the defensive zone. That top line shift with Sekera and Weber at the back just before the goal was cringe worthy in how many chances they had to get the puck out and turned the puck over..

Remember when the Sabres were regularly the quicker team? To a man, they look like they're skating in slush.

Game after game, it looks like the other team "wants" it more. The Islanders have more jump in their step, beating our guys to the puck, out hustling/out fightinhg/winning the puck battles. Just happens game after game.....

Ruff needs to go....

end of season he needs to go, I can't see them letting him go during the season

That was mainly because Hodgson didn't have a stick, though.

it's a 1-2-2 system, there's one forechecker

I shudder at what they might look like tomorrow against a Boston team that didn't end up having to play tonight.

It boggles my mind how a team of professionals can repeatedly make pee wee level (or lower) mistakes in the defensive zone. It seems they want to put the puck into the middle of their zone all the time -- and it costs them.

Bad positional play, not a lot of effort on the backcheck, and vets making bonehead plays (like Hecht the other night against Montreal). They stink.

One forechecker does not equal no forechecking.

In addition, just like the latter half of the Florida game, they're spending eons of time inside of their own zone turning the puck over so that when they do finally get it out, they have to get the puck in and change, giving the defensemen plenty of time to get set up in their own end before the pressure is able to get there. Going balls out when the defender already has the puck off of the wall and is facing the oncoming forecheckers is just asking for odd man rush after odd man rush.

Lol. At the same time, he needs to create on his own. He's not playing hard or even attempting to win battles. He needs to skate harder and play more aggressive. He's too passive.

He looks worse than Adam did after Adam went invisible.

Yep. I notice when I watch most other teams play. The Sabres are generally slow.

So chip the puck out. Sekera behind the net with plenty of time tries to do the fancy thing and brings the puck out in front of his own goaltender and turns it over. He had plenty of time to make a much safer play.

Right, but it's a passive system. You're hoping the other team makes mistakes instead of trying to dictate play.

And yeah, the defensive tire fire is what it is. They're not a good team. But they're a bad boring team on top of it.

BTW it was the third line with Kreider and Callahan; a little difference in talent there, no? His second goal was also a PP tally.

Hecht is having another cringe worthy game.

Our defensive zone coverage is painful to watch.

It was a dumb play, but the main reason they got caught for so long was because Hodgson had no stick. The puck was around him for the rest of that shift and he couldn't do anything with it.

What could we expect with 2 true, proven players...Vanek and Pomms. Ok, Ott plays his role well, no complaints.

A malcontent in Stafford.

An over-the-hill Hecht.

And then a bunch of 1-3 year players playing in positions that require responsibility....Ennis, Foligno, Grigs and CoHo are all in over their heads. With the exception of CoHo, who has shown me atleast, a knack of playing decent positional hockey, playing a two-way game, the others are playing like 1-3 year players.

That's not even getting into the worst defensive team in the league....

btw, Leopold starts....hahahahahah
