When was the last time?

You remember 3 losses in a row that were as tough to swallow as these 3?

2010-11 when we were shutout in 3 straight games in late March.

The year Carolina won the cup. Koivu almost lost an eye and our team fell apart.

You 2 have too good of a memory!! lol. I forgot about both of those, but they were both brutal. I think the toughest part of these past 3 games is that we could've won 2 of them. The Bruins and Sabres losses were way worse than the Leafs loss because we were in them. I felt like we choked those games away especially the Sabres game.

We were never in the Leafs game. I mean the 1st period alone was a tragi-comedy.

It's probably just an emotional reaction after a tough loss, but it always feels like the bad moments are always so all-encompassingly terrible, and always against our biggest rivals, which just compounds the feeling. Can we just once have a game where not just everyone's playing well, but we're winning every battle, we win every fight, we blow out the opponent on the scoreboard, and shut them out to boot? Doesn't seem like we ever get that perfect storm, but the Bostons and Torontos will occasionally have one against us now and then.

Man, except yesterday, we were so close to have two extra Ws and speak about yesterday as a fluke bad game. Now, we're talking about three straight losses...

I think it was during the 2010 playoffs, right before we came back in the series against Washington

Ugh...why did I start this thread?

I had forgotten about most of these games. That game where Koivu almost got his eye taken out was so scary... And especially after we dominated the first 2 games of that series against the Canes...Damn you Cam Ward! Why couldn't we have kept facing Gerber?

I guess if we can take anything out of this, it is that things can always be a little bit worse than you think they are?

Buffalo are a rival team too. Same division, it's not as intense but still.

Masochist? Emo? Dramaqueen?

We are a very emotive fanbase. If we win the next 3, we'll be back in the saddle. It's MT's job to motivate his guys now.

The only really tough loss for me was yesterdays. In the Boston and Buffalo games we could have come out with wins pretty easily and for the most part I liked the way we were playing. I don't expect us to win the cup this year (playoffs would be nice though) so I am more concerned with how the team performs then the actual wins and losses. Having a hard fought loss that where the young guys play well and the system is effective is better than a win where we are drastically outplayed but squeak it out thanks to insane goaltending or some lucky bounces.

If you think about it, Molson did everything this guy told him to do. Had he just listen to him from the start he (and his team) would have been a lot better off.

The Bruins barely got passed us with 2 very quick 3rd period goals to get a 1 goal lead.

The Sabres were lucky to even go to overtime let alone win in a shootout.

It's no surprise we were treading through sand in the Leafs game, which Ended up lopsided because the Leafs, a team with a personal vendetta against us, decided to show up.

Our next game is against a team currently on a 4 game losing streak. Time to take advantage. Watch us come out of the gate flying with extreme rage.

What we experienced this week was nothing compared to the triple shutout we had to endure 2 years ago.

A tough loss is not a 6-0 loss. That my friend is called a rout. Bourque took one for the team. There is no doubt he completely understands the coin "having the tiger by the tail" after saving Gionta. I think he should get a lot of credit.
