Kaberle - Do we need him in the line-up?

the team plays better with him in the line up. the pp is more effective, and he can move the puck 5-5.

not the best in his own end, but the d hasn't looked the same since he's left.

hope he finds his way back in the line up tuesday.

I have been hoping this for awhile now. Emelin has been a disaster and needs to ride the pine.

Emelin has pretty...average...puck skills, to be polite.

However no way he should sit - he brings a dimension and identity to our D we desperately need.

I like the idea of dressing 7 D and going with the matchups. Especially if it means taking Bouillon off the PP and having Armstrong sit for a bit.

"Giveaways" are not a dimension, and if they were Gomez would rule that dimension with an iron fist.

Anything that gets Emelin and Boullion less ice time and off the PP is good for me.

With this D, I'd play 7 regularly. You need as many bodies as you can find.

Dimension being bruising physical play, you knew what I meant there, come on.

Ya I was just kidding. Honestly if Kaberle came back it would just be for instant scapegoat status. He is better off not playing.

Our D is full of soft European's. Kaberle, Markov, Diaz, Emelin, Weber. No wonder our team is soft as butter..LOL. Just skate around them and shove them off to the side like swatting a fly.

I want to hear Therrien's justification as to why Gorges-Subban hasn't been reunited and used at the #1 pairing? They are an infinitely better 5-on-5 pairing than Markov-Emelin.

Emelin isn't soft. Soft isn't a term for "can't fight." Soft is a term for a player who avoids physical aspects of the game.

Just switch Emelin on the left side of the bottom pairing (with Diaz), and give him 16-17 minutes per game, no more.

Maybe Gorges (or Subban) has a special clause in his contract about not to play with that other guy.

I'd dress him and go with 7 D. Most of our forwards suck right now anyway, so sitting someone up front won't be detrimental.

I agree that Emelin has been sub-par this season but be careful what you ask for... very careful

Markov can barely cover for his constant mistakes how do you think Diaz will fair?

I ask for a player who can pass the puck and bring something to the team, that player is not Emelin. Until he gets his game together he should have his time reduced. Kaberles faults were blown way out of proportion, if he did half of what Emelin did he would have been bought out by now.

I respectfully disagree and apparently so do most of the GMs in the league or he would be playing somewhere right now. As for buying him out, the opportunity did not present itself... that option was reserved for Gomez.

What a ridiculous statement, given his past struggles and recent demotion good luck finding someone to take on his contract.

Point is Kaberle is just as good as Emelin defensively and probably the best 1st passer on the team and he is sitting in the pressbox doing nothing. Poor asset management right there.

Probably the 2nd best 1st passer on the team. Markov's clear #1, if you ask me.

I agree he should play - but at the same time, he's not exactly a MT kind of player, it seems.
