Yeah, basically he said peterson's shot and skating speed was better, but silfverberg was better at everything single other thing....including attitude which is huge...and size.

The thing is he will probably develop as he did in his SEL-career. Starts of his first seasons in the SEL as good working two-way forward with not so many points but still shows of some great skill at times, next season his showing more of that skill and the last season he was just dominating. Not saying that we will dominate the NHL but he needs more time then others to find his game in a new league/team.

No doubt in my mind has Petersson a better shot than Silfver. It's not a lot better but it really is better. That said.. it's probably the only thing he has on Silfverberg.

Nice goals tonight

He certainly seems to be more confident, which can only be a good thing...

He had 2 points in his first 10 games, 5 points in his last 10 games (I'm aware they overlap a bit) and 3 points in his last 3 games (not including 2 shootout goals).

I don't know if they measure shooting % in the SEL, but his S% this year is 6. That's really low. It'll trend up and he's playing better and better. I think 14 - 17g and 25 - 30pts isn't unreasonable for him at this point.

His brother and some family and friends had a box right behind me at the game last night. They were doing the Silfverberg chant and freaked out when he scored in the shootout. Bro looked exactly like him, it was almost scary.

Might be a bit optimistic, thats pacing at a 50-60pts level (82 game sched) for the remainder of the season. He'll get the opportunity though and that's half the battle.

He'll be fun to watch, and I hope your right.

I don't want to alarm anyone but he is on pace for exact same season as his first year in the SEL 16 points in 48 games...

Hart and Stanley Cup in 2 years?

Silfver said in a interview today in sportbladet (swedish - use google) that he now doesn't skate around and thinking that he need to play as simple as possible. Instead he's playing his game and it seem to do the trick.

It's actually lots of Sens-news in today's paper (Alfie is GOD even according to Apple now)

Now that our Swedes are starting to play with the team, are the Sens becoming more popular in Sweden?

Well, Erik Karlsson has already made great commercial for
this team but ofcourse having last years superstar in Swedish hockey
in the lineup will create even more newsfeeds.
Silf is a special kind of player that draws attention, you can put him on the BigList. with Forsberg,Sundin, Alfie, Lidstrom, Lundqvist , Karlsson,Naslund, Sedins,Zetterberg and Backstrom. Thats whats expected of him! And there is one new kid on the move...Elias Lindholm he is the next player to have eyes on. Hope he will make it too. He has got the right tools. (And is from the Right town Gävle

Why not? Did anyone expect Alfie to be one of the best swedes of all time at 22?

Can't really agree here either.. Sure, he became really big after his amazing last year in the SEL, but saying people compare him with or expect him to be a new Forsberg... nah.

At least I would say it is one of the teams that draw the most media attention. Them and Detroit.

When Alfie is at the lower end of a list, it's probably pretty difficult to make the list.

No idea how good Silfverberg will be, but safe to predict a probable top 6 player. His shorthanded goal was unexpected. Shorthanded, coming in at a terrible angle, and against Lundquist. Good stuff.

If you need to question why Silfverberg never will touch those players, you don't know those players.

Never say never, Silfverberg has a chance to get on that list, like this guy:

Last year in SEL, he had a shooting % of 15.58 during the regular season. In the playoffs it was 21.31%. (G/SOG%)
