To me, Kadri's biggest problem this year (beyond his atrocious faceoff ability), is that he hasn't always been given the opportunity to play with a guy who can put the puck in the net. Mac has struggled, and Kadri has played much better when Frattin's in the lineup. I think if you give Kadri a set of wingers like Lupul/Frattin, they could quite easily be one of the most dangerous secondary lines in the league.
How can you say that when Frattin has only played 10 games & Naz has continued to produce? Naz leads the team in scoring & seems to have been involved in setting up anyone these days...

IMO Kadri should be playing with Kessel and JVR and move Bozak down to be more a defensive checking forward.. Bozak is a great faceoff guy, awesome PK man and seems more comfortable helping the leafs defend with better checking linemates than trying to keep up with Phil & co...

I've noticed that recently his shot totals are up higher than early on in the year. Which is definitely a good sign, not sure if its a def sign of recovery, or if its more because increased ice time, especially pp time, being that Kadri and frattin are now up with the big club. I have noticed that he seems to produce alot on the pp, which is either a good thing or a bad thing.

I think Lupul will start playing his natural RW position under Randy with the chemistry Kessel and JVR have formed.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Mac/Frattin - Kadri - Lupul
Mac/Komarov - Grabo - Kulemin
McLaren - McClement - Orr/Brown

Wow, that's a really great top nine. Mac is obviously the weakest link, though.

If we could move Mac and Bozak out, and insert ROR, we'd have one of the best top nines in hockey.

Kadri for O'Reilly?

If O'Reilly is the answer so is Kadri.

I think having a 1A 1B scenario with ROR and Kadri would be great. Kadri could be the offensive specialist, and ROR the defensive one. No single player has to be "the answer".

Van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Frattin
Komarov - Grabovski - Kulemin
MacArthur - McClement - Orr/Brown/McClaren

Went a little different than everyone else for the bottom six. I think having a skill guy on both lines as well as having two lines that can play defensive strong would help. More of a 3a/3b look.

I wouldn't even do a 1 for 1 trade for Kadri and O'Rielly. It would be nice to have both though.

Our centres could be

Kadri
O'Reilly
Bozak
McClement

Upon returning, Id put Lupul with Kadri and Frattin on 3rd line duty (because there's no harm having talent there)

JvR Bozak Kessel
Komarov Grabo Kulemin
Lupul Kadri Frattin
MacArthur McClement Brown/Mcclaren

I would be suprsed if that were the case. Kessel had his best season playing with Lupul, not to mention Lupul having a fantastic year as well (not sure if it was his best from a ppg perspective). JVR played well with Grabo, have to put Lupul back with Kessel.

I think this lineup is the most logical.

For the most part, you don't want to tinker with the top line when they are working well enough. The 2nd line could be that "shutdown" line and also has enough skill to put something up. The third line is the line that excites me the most for when Lupul returns. You are finally surrounding Kadri with guys that have skill and are also capable of carrying the load physically. Both of those guys should clear room for Kadri.

You really have to think that MacArthur gets moved. There's no way that he should get healthy scratched, so its possible that you re-unite the Grabo-Kulemin-MacArthur line and move Komarov to the 4th line with McClement and xxxx.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Grabovski - Kulemin
JVR - Kadri - Frattin
Komarov - McClement- Brown
Orr - Steckel - McClaren

We have good depth. it's not a bad problem to have, Nonnis should pull off some sort of package deal when Lupul's back.

Lupul will be put back on the top line and JVR taken off. Lupul - Bozak - Kessel has been so steady when they've have played, I'm sure Randy will recognize this.

JVR could go on the Grabo - Kulie line to make sure they don't fall off the map again.

I would argue that this is Phil Kessel's best season as a hockey player regardless of who's with him

I've never seen Kessel look through so many steps to make a play before making a shot on net

He's becoming a pretty amazing all around player under Carlyle so far

He scored last game but he had some large holes in his game. He really backed off on more plays than any other game I remember this year. It wasn't one of his better efforts.

I said it once and I will say it again; Lupul should be put back with Kessel and Bozak with JVR put down to the second line. We know from last season the type of production that Lupes and Kessel have together and if after a couple weeks that chemistry isn't showing then bring JVR back to the first but you have to go with what we know works.

You mean like the chemistry that MacArthur, Grabovski and Kulemin had the year after they all had career years?

If its not broken, then don't fix it. Let Lupul start on the third line with Kadri and Frattin and if there is a stumble in the 1st line, then you move him up there.

Lupul has only played 1 game this year (barely 1) after the lockout. And then has missed the following 20+ games. He's not going to have the same jump.
