if jvr can work on faceoffs, that topline can be imo

dont know what to do with bozak though
He's taken a couple this year so far, it was brutal. Let me assure you, JVR will not be taking faceoffs as a Center! There's just no way in hell it's going to happen. Philly fans were right, he's no NHL Center.

I don't recall seeing the draws he took, what made you think it was brutal. The stats indicate he did well, 12 wins and 6 losses.

I recall him winning a few. Poster under me proves that he's won more then he lost. Brutal you say?

Send him to the AHL for a conditioning stint. He can play with Connolly to get his game back

I'd like to see something like this

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
Komarov - Grabovski - Kulemin (2a/checking line)
vanRiemsdyk - Kadri - Frattin (2b scoring)
McClaren - McClement - Orr

Bye bye MacArthur?
Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - Kulemin
MacArthur - Kadri - Frattin
Komarov/Brown - McClement - Orr/McClaren

Grabo line w/ JVR can play tougher minutes and be more of an offensive threat. Fourth line still has grit & can play a bigger role (which is key considering we have a heavily sheltered third scoring line). Fourth line is pretty interchangeable depending on the make-up of the team we are playing.

edit: oh man I did not realise how long this thread was.

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabovski-Kulemin
Frattin-Kadri-MacArthur
Mclaren-Mcclement-Komarov

JVR has underrated defensive abilities and could slot in well on the shut down line while hopefully sparking offense from grabo.
Top line just needs time to get rolling together
Frattin and kadri obviously, macA has looked good with kadri this far, no reason to separate but komarov could change with macA if need be.
Fourth line looks responsible with a bit of jam to it.

Lol didn't look at the post right above mine...

once everyone is healthy.

Lupul Bozak Kessel

I like Lupul better on this line as he is more of a corner player to dig pucks out and work with the other 2 guys. JVR is better off the rush and a shooter

JVR Kadri Frattin

2 shooters for Kadri to work with

MacArthur Grabbo Kulemin

See if the old magic works

Komorov McClement Mclaren

Use them as an energy line and part time shutdown line.

I think Grabbo's line needs to get back to scoring and not worry about the D side so much. Get more offensive zone draws where they are good at cycling and wearing down the opposition. Let McClement line take D zone draws since they have 2/3 solid D players.

Put Phaneuf with Franson, and let Kostka-Fraser rock the third pair. Kostka is good 5 v 5, and so is Fraser. Could be a solid pair.

I wouldn't be breaking up Kadri and Mac at this point.

The offence would be good, but...

Fraser - Franson has been one of our best pairs, and I would say the best 3rd pair in the league.

No need to break them up.

Phaneuf-Franson were awesome last night though. I'd rather have that play from my 1st pairing instead of a 3rd pairing.
