I really think they thought he'd get through

You can rent wingers for mid round picks and low level prosp.

Funny how everybody gets to excited over this call-up, jumping to conclusion that it may be related to a trade but only to get completely deflated by he news of Letang on IR.

I had a feeling letang's injury was a bad one( sports hernia) . Let the serious injuries begin. How far did we get this time...10 games in?

This very uncharacteristic move by the pens tells me how serious letang's injury is and they are trying to get morrow some experience now. Letang will not be healthy for the rest of this season. He will play, but when you wonder why he's not looking like himself...look no further

Not for the Seto's or Stewarts unless they only want futures, which they wont. Toronto will want roster and futures for Kulemin.

Saw something that said Letang on IR is retroactive to Last Tuesday and he has to spend a week on?

Dan says Letang day to day.

Guilty of crossing their fingers a bit too much, maybe. Too bad, because it ended up costing them both.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Even if they do, there should be a lot of potential available scoring wingers this deadline.

I'm a bit confused as well. I guess they didn't have it in them to waive Lovejoy over Strait.

I bet Morrow doesn't even play a game with us this stint and also Letang can return as soon as Wednesdays game. Calm down

Morrow played the last two nights in WBS. Would be very surprised if he plays tonight.

I figured Letang would miss about 5-6 games in a 48 game schedule since he normally misses about 10 a season.

Excited to see Morrow though. Young dman movement in Pittsburgh.

Morrow has played very well lately on the D end after a rough learning period. He has more NHL talent than most dmen in the league now so he just needed to learn how to play at the higher level. The Pens must of felt he made the proper adjustments and is ready to get a few games up in the NHL.

Morrow coud be on the fast track to the NHL like Letang. If Morrow plays well he could stay and at worst he gets sent down after a few games of experience. The D is too deep when everyone is healthy so unless Morrow is lights out he will be sent back.

Does this mean Letang's injury is going to be longer than we would expects?

Injuries happen, we need depth. Luckily in this case, we have some.
It's a trade off. You lose depth defensively at the benefit of having a potential top 6 winger. I think it's worth it, depending on the specifics of the deal of course.

Did someone tell you it's a sports hernia? And how is this an uncharacteristic move? The team was at the roster limit. They needed to put someone else on IR to bring up Morrow as an extra defenseman.

Bylsma said Morrow recall is insurance because of bumps, bruises; ~ per Shelly Anderson

Letang will be eligible to play on Wednesday.

Don't be so panicked until there's a reason to be.

Insurance. Someone was going to be called up with Letang going on IR. If anyone gets injured tonight then he'll already be here to practice on Tuesday and prepare for Wednesday. Or maybe they know Letang won't be ready for Wednesday...

Whoever they called up today would have played the past two nights.
