Bylsma said Morrow recall is insurance because of bumps, bruises; ~ per Shelly Anderson

Letang will be eligible to play on Wednesday.

Don't be so panicked until there's a reason to be.
With the last 3 seasons being filled with serious injuries, I will always assume the worse. The fact that it was morrow and not dumoulin being called up is why I'm jumping to conclusions. There's been a reason to panic every season since we won the cup. Fed up with injuries

Seeing Morrow should be cool.

Hope Tangers recovers 100% though and isn't rushed back.

I'd imagine that if they are bringing him up, he's going to see some ice.

Lower body is all I've heard. Guessing a groin pull... hopefully nothing worse than that.

I think this is the most likely explanation.

He's a kid. As long as he's healthy there's no reason another 10 minutes TOI would kill him. I expect him to get some time out there, maybe on the #2 PP and some 5 on 5 shifts if we're ahead.

Maybe later this week, but not tonight. He's here for insurance, which means in case of further injury/suspension or poor play by someone tonight.

Insurance in case one of the defenders from yesterday can't go tonight. Bylsma even said "Morrow recalled for insurance because the team has "bumps and bruises"".

Also the coach is not going to tip his hand if he intends to put Morrow in. The bumps and bruises are bad enough that they think they might need him... IMO he's going to play some limited minutes. Did anyone confirm if Reese got sent back down?

I really look at it as just good experience. Among other things (playingtime) it will be his first time in an NHL gameday locker room atmosphere, he gets what amounts to a nice bonus, and it gives him a taste of what his hard work in the A can become. As an employee that can me tremendous motivation.

As a fan I find it exciting, I really hope they scratch Reese for him tonight.

pretty sure he didn't. With Reese and Morrow both up we still only have 7 healthy D in Pittsburgh. That said, I think we should play Despres over Reese anyway.

Thought Dumoulin was considered a better playmaker/distributor than Morrow was?

Clearly Morrow has a better shot but I thought Dumoulin was the better passer.

Also, I find it funny that Dumoulin's name got destroyed in this thread.

This is the first I've ever heard any mention of Dumoulin being better than Morrow at any offensive skill

I'll be sure to keep that ready in the future. for every negative post about Morrow, I am hoping for at least a dozen of that response

Maybe just more developed... I don't know I am admittedly not a fan of the Penguins, just follow the minors for fantasy purposes...

Heavily doubt Morrow plays tonight but they needed an extra d-man in case someone gets hurt during warm-ups/etc.

They said he was called up because the D has some "bumps and bruises" we'll see who sits tonight, but I think Morrow will play.

That's a relief in a way. I was starting to worry to another veteran D had gone down over top of Niskanen and Letang.
